My report can be found here:

Snaproll's Civilization 4 Page

Looks like out of the 3 reports posted so far, I'm #3. lol Oh well, by the end of the reporting I'll probably be #100 or so!

I didn't have time to proofread before going to sleep, so sorry if you read the report tonight. I'll proofread in the morning.

Although it's the first report I've read of you so far (adventure 4 is the first one I took part in so the others weren't as interesting for me) I can say that I liked this short version and wasn't missing anything.

So if you ask me you can continue writing short report. You won't lose me as a reader (for whatever that's worth lol ).

I think you're right not to kill yourself on the reports. Sirian and I both wrote shorter reports for this game, because at some point you need to spend less time writing and more time just playing the darn thing! Figure out what works best for you and go with it. smile

Interesting to go with Mining first on the research. I would have thought if you were going for a worker tech, Animal Husbandry would be the first one (?) Oh, Masonry beeline. Well - I stand by saying that Animal Husbandry might have been a better choice. The MINED pigs tile is very strange to see. wink

The tile management of Thebes seems very strange. I'm not sure why you didn't pasturize those pigs as soon as you got Animal Husbandry. Leaving it with a mine just seems like a real waste... as is the unmined copper tile. I mean no offense, just trying to point out where you might be able to improve things.

Quote:I was able to stay in it by going for expensive techs, getting them early, and then trading them for cheaper techs.

This is ultimately why we have limits on tech trading. Otherwise this would always be the best strategy in every game...

Wow, Qin really was the runaway civ. I'm so glad that he was slowed by wars in my game (although I did trigger several of those myself). The move to slow him in war certainly looks like it helped your overall position. I don't know if it slowed down your launch, or if the extra territory compensated for time spent in war. Regardless, I enjoyed watching someone else take it to him! hammer

The endgame was just smooth and routine. Excellent work, especially in responding to the Spanish attack. Congrats on your win! smile

Very nice. Though I have a soft spot in my heart for Qin Shi Huang (I think he might be one of the best leaders out there), I always enjoy beating up on him. This seemed like one of the most successful strategies in all of the games. And hey, your date of 1930 still beat mine! lol

Great game.

Nice game, im exactly opposite of you. You cant stay away from warring, I cant seem to get myself to declare war.

I agree with you on the whipping comments. There was so many food resources and extra food on this map that whipping was so good. I didnt switch out of Slavery until I absolutely had to, when Emancipitation started hurting my happiness.

Im surprised how late people got Alphabet in your game. eek . Pretty nice fininsh date also.

Kind of funny actually that I never had a good screenshot of Thebes after the one you are referring to. In my defense, I only had the pig tile mined until shortly after I learned AH - I really only mined it because I decided to delay AH for awhile and a mined pig is still a pretty darn good tile. After I got AH, I pasturized it. My thinking at the time was "look at all these floodplains! I can delay pasturizing the pigs until I hit my happiness limit". And, as for the copper, there was a worker on the way when I took that shot!

Good Report, nothing missing. You were interested to see how the game would play out with no war? Read my report, no war I launched a few turns later, those are the only real differences. I want to echo Qwack, if you did not know it before after this map you should now SLAVERY CAN BE very powerful, food=shields=infrastructure. Also I could not agree more about Spiritual, someone drops a boat load of units in a surprise attack, no worries shift some units there, switch to slavery and nationhood, draft some units, whip a unit in the threatened city, surprise attack negated! A very powerful civ trait. The real question Snap is.... now after cruising to victory on Mon. When are we gonna crank up an emperor SG wink ?

Nice report.

I also noticed the bS map. I first thought (when only the S was visible) that it meant "Sirian", but then I realised he had nothing to do with the map... lol

What does "session 2 and 3 starts" in this picture mean ??? http://www.geocities.com/pacerdart/Adven..._start.jpg
I don't think I saw that in mine (but I could be wrong). How do you get those messages ?

Everyone should have them Rik. If you look closely Thebes was founded twice...

Must be the way Arathorn saved this map.
