A nice, early victory. Where there any wars on your continent? (I might have missed it)
As for being last in soldiers, I know what you mean. I was first, for a short time, but only because of over-reacting to Barbs.
Nice game.

Hi,
interesting to see that you founded your second city north at the river instead of where nearly everybody else had founded it! Took probably longer to develop because of the jungle, though.
And you had a lucky break with the Burgundian city! In most games, Huayna managed to found a city there instead of the barbs.

Congrats on a very well played game!

Yes, at the time I was worried Qin would get to that area first, but as it turned out I had plenty of time. Building my second city NW near the Cow/Rice/Horses would have probably been better, as it could have cranked out settlers/workers faster, and had my military in place a little sooner!

Yes, apparently, in fact I didn't realize until reading the other reports that that was a problem. When I discovered the tech, I got the message that I had Aluminum near Heliopolis (my 3rd city, the one near the horses). I wonder if the "Popped Another One" routine can generate resources that you can't see yet, and just stores the location for revealing later? I don't know. (But I'll take it!)

Justus,
Regarding to your scout popping XP and getting killed next turn: you are actually able to promote a unit even if it's used up all move points. Just click on it and promote as usual.

I think this is not possible if the unit has gained the xp for the new level on that turn. You can only promote it if it would have been possible to promote it on the beginning of its turn.

I have experienced the same as Kylearan, but want to add something I noticed:
If you promote a unit which was already able to promote at the beginning of the turn then you are allowed to also use newly gained XP which you wouldn't be able to use if the unit wasn't able to promote at the beginning of the turn. (For me it's difficult to express such things in english. Hope you understand what I'm talking about.) Bug or feature?

Thanks for the info, I'll have to give it a try sometime. As it was, it was all new XP. I just have this picture of these Scouts standing around after talking to some natives, saying "Did you hear that? I'll bet those tactics would be awesome for fighting in the forest!! We would be unbeatable! ..."
Meanwhile, the Barb warriors are walking up behind them and bonk them on the head while they're excitedly talking.
