After a fun and tight first game I am itching for a re-match.

I have created a new game on http://www.boardgaming-online.com/ with the name RB_game2 and the password "pinkdot". We will try to have a turnpace of roughly 1 turn a day.

I am going to do a spoilered player thread like Rho did for our last game, but I will focus on strategy more than the basics.

Sign-up is open until we get 4 players or Wednesday.

I'm obviously in--it'll be nice to join something with a consistent turn pace. I've joined two public games since our game, and while one of them has been fine so far (notably with a couple of blitz sections), the other hasn't been moving much. I'll also have a spoiler thread--I think I've learned enough to be useful, and it'll be nice to talk somewhere where I can reveal hidden information.

I will happily join you, but I'll wait a bit in case a couple of new players want to play. I won't attempt any reporting this time, which should help with the turn pace a little. I've also still got plans to finish off my thread from the previous game: foolishly I bought a new game and it's eaten a bunch of my time.
I'll be very interested to see your strategic thoughts at the conclusion of the game.

Bump--does anyone else want to try this? I know we will help you understand any rules things (especially rho if he doesn't end up playing), and it's not like I'm the best yet either.

While we're waiting for people to show interest in this game, I'll pop in a link to my public game I've been playing (at least the one that's actually moving)

I've been behind in this one for pretty much the whole game (I waited one turn too long to build my second Philosophy, and it put me a turn behind most of the game), but now with Einstein, FSF, and getting back into the military race, it feels like I have a chance again--is that foolish?  I'm also wondering if I should cancel that loss of sovereignty pact I just signed--a second Rocket puts me in second in Strength, but Grey has ballooned in strength--part of it probably has to do with whether I get Military Theory or not next turn I think.

I want to start the game soon. If we want a fourth player I can invite a friend who is in the same tournament as me.

I cannot see the card row here are some comments anyway. I think you will need to get back into the military race as aggressions can be devastating as well and they will be directed at you the moment you are a threat. The grey player is leading the military race by a mile and should win the game if he gets a good war. You do not want to be the target of that as it probably ensures last place so you want to keep the pact a round more unless you are sure that grey will not war you. Orange player has air forces and a ton of production, so the best target for him is probably is purple who has a point lead and very low military. I expect purple to at least build a cannon but if he builds more you definitely need the pact. I suggest you go for military theory and build a rocket regardless as you will need it soon and you may get the chance to do an aggression on purple. The other options would be an opera but that seems risky for not that much reward as you have no combos with it. Depends a bit on the impacts seeded. Re military: air forces or a better tactic would be really sweet against grey, any chance for those?

A stray tip: the best cards for impacts are the special technologies that effect impact of progress, government, technology and variety. You should target those if possible.

That stuff is interesting--it's strange that they don't let spectators see the card row though (probably something to do with you only being able to see it when viewing your board, which is strange as well).

It looks like our game disappeared--BGO probably deletes games that don't start in a period of time.

It got broken on the site when it was updated for the new version. I was rather disappointed as I play a lot of mini-tournaments with friends and you can't always tell who is winning without knowing what's on the row.
I expect it'll be back eventually. The webmaster isn't very responsive to fixing things, but then he works on it for nothing so you can't really blame him.

Yeah, looks like it. Oh well, it's not hard to start a new one. Handily, completed games only disappear off the list rather than being deleted. (Use "Finished Games" from the Games menu to search for old games - remember to change the radio button!.)

There were a few people displaying interest on my report thread a while back, but I suspect we may have trouble drawing much attention on these boards right at the moment, what with Civ VI released today. smile  Might be a good idea to just play another 3-player game (with chumchu reporting strategic thoughts to drum up further interest) and look for new players suffering Civ VI hype disappointment in a few weeks. lol

Sound like a plan =)

I'll make a game right now, same as before.

In. Good luck everyone.
I'll try to have my write up of the previous game finished this weekend.
