XCOM 2 SG - It Continues?

We'll be playing XCOM 2 in a succession style game. Everyone will play the base management section and one mission, then report it and upload the save for the next player.

As opposed to a strict order, I think we're best off if we go in rounds. Anyone can claim the save next, but they won't get a second mission until everyone has played once, and so on.

This will be played on Commander difficulty (second highest), with Ironman (no save scumming!) enabled. Make sure to check the difficulty when you play, in case it doesn't persist from one system to another. All DLC is enabled.

Mission 1: Operation Gatecrasher




It's the same first mission as always. Maybe we can have all 4 survive for once  cool



Okay that's REALLY familiar.



We saw enemies through the window. I set up overwatches in case they bump into us, but didn't want to start a fight yet.



Next turn we took the roof. If they spotted us now I wouldn't even mind.



Hah, we get another turn. Time to do the same old ambush for two campaigns in a row!



86% odds are real good for a bunch of rookies.



One goes down!



And so do the rest. First pod done, 3 promos in the bag.



Couldn't get an ambush on the other group, even though I knew to expect them around here.



Their choice of cover left much to be desired.



We killed the Officer, but then missed two 65% shots.



They couldn't flank us, so we were fairly safe behind full cover. They both missed.



It was no problem to flank both and kill them. One dropped loot: An Advanced Extended Magazine. Nice!

Everyone got a promotion, so we have one of each class.



Every turn player should claim a character. Customization optional. I claimed the Specialist.
We should have the same main+side color to make the squad look like a squad. Apart from that, go wild. Next player should come up with a color combination for us, preferably one different from what my squad has in the Ironman Again campaign.
Once all turn players are in, we'll add lurkers. Post in this thread if you want to be in.

I'm a fan of going to blacksite early (I usually go as soon as I get SS1, assuming healthy squad of course) to get it out the way before nasty stuff starts to show up. I'm happy to play that mission if we want to go down that path, although we should probably try to spread out all the big missions so we all play one. For now though I still need to get the DLC so I'll play later on.

And yeah, modular weapons first. Adv. Exp. Magazine is pretty good pickup for the 1st mission, let's put it to use.

I should be able to pick this up in 15-30mins after my PBEM turns if no-one else has grabbed.

WK: SS1? Also who would you typically put the 'Mag onto; Sniper or Gren?

Squad Size 1.

Definitely Sniper for the Mag. Grenadiers can reload and shoot in the same turn, Snipers cannot.
