It seems like all the RB SG games appear, fully formed on the CFC board, but I imagine they're worked out here first . . .
So, I have an idea for an SG game (to be conducted at CFC, of course). Here it is:
Player: Queen Catherine of Russia
Difficulty: Emperor
Map: Standard, Pangea
Opponents: Monty, Mao, Napolean, Bismarck, Alex, Toku, Genghis, Julius
Variant: Always War
I've never played emperor before, but would anybody be interested in joining up??

My personal opinion = Those settings are suicide.

Let me second that. You've got a challenging game there already, but adding Always War on top? ![eek eek](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif) Hey, feel free to go for it, but I think you're going to be rolled up pretty fast. This isn't Civ3 where the AI could be endlessly exploited in war.

![lol lol](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/lol.gif) i added the AW as an afterthought b/c, judging from the other RB SG's, it wasn't 'extreme' enough (i.e., no roads, no tech changing, etc)
maybe NOT AW or perhaps go w/Monarch??
I'm just getting bored w/SP and looking to learn more...what better way than roping some of you RBers to teach me in a SG!!

Always war is EXTREMELY HARD... Im not even joking when I say, if you want to go those settings and those AI Opponents, go no higher than Noble difficulty.
Or just take off the always war and go emperor, it will still be hard though. Good luck with this man.. I wouldnt mind joining a Noble AW game though.. Just for fun.

edit:
all right, abridged rules:
Player: Queen Catherine of Russia
Difficulty: Noble/Prince??
Map: Standard, Pangea
Opponents: Monty, Mao, Napolean, Bismarck, Alex, Toku, Genghis, Julius
NO VARIANT

Yeah settings look better now. But what I meant was that if you keep it always War.. go noble or prine, without the always war, emperor is fine. Should be fun ![nod nod](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/nod.gif) . I think always war is basically like a +3 difficulty modifier, so emperor always war is something like deity on steroids 8). Noble or Prince always war is more beatable.
[Edit] Btw, what do you think about a Always Global War game? I havent noticed any global war SG's yet and a always global war with those opponents on a pangea can become well.... interesting

I thought the same thing, AWE would be extremely hard but below is a thread a CFC of some great players who are doing well. http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=162281
It's a good read.

But they tailored the map so that 1) they were guaranteed to have iron in the capital's starting radius for Rome, and 2) they would never have to fight more than one opponent at a time. Not the mention the fact that this is on Epic, which is currently unbalanced in favor of military units. Note these lines in the discussion thread:
Mark1031 Wrote:I will play out a few starts to make sure we have Iron reachable and donât start with more than 3 other civs on the continent. Mark1031 Wrote:We have a very nice start (I tried a few:we will have Iron nearby and not too many opponents).
You can beat just about anything if you game the map for it. I'm sure you could beat Deity always war by coming up with some map or variant settings where the AI was totally crippled. In Civ3, I was disgusted with all the "Sid" games that refused to play anything other than a triple cow start on 80% water archipelago with a Seafaring civ.
Not trying to rain on anyone's parade here, but beware of reading taglines like "Emperor Always War." They can be misleading.
