Civ 6 Adventute 5 - Andy's Inquisition

I hate this start! What can you do? SIP with one 4 food/prod tile and everything else is a 3. You can't improve the cotton for a long time and the low housing start is annoying. At the moment I'm aiming for the  marsh to found (though I might move one more west so that I don't invalidate the tiles to the south west of the cotton. 3 turns of movement though hurts. Ahh well.

Turn 2

Bananas are good, as are the 2 cattle tiles. Settling on the marsh puts 1 cows first ring, with cotton, cows, deer and bananas in the second ring.If I settle there then I can't  settle on any of the coastal tiles south of the cotton. I think that the southern coast (from tile bleed) will also be off limits as well unless there is more down there. 1 tile to the west of the settler gives me bananas and marsh first ring, cows second ring, deer second ring + whatever is in the fog. It also keeps the east coast free. I don't want to give up the coast so I will go west.

Turn 3

Look at those cows! Imagine seeing that whilst playing as Australia. Buenos Aires would not last long. Next turn I will found, pop the hut and keep going from there. I don't think that I have moved this far before settling in civ 6 yet.

Turn 4

Big Turn. First religious city state Kandy which is great. The suzerain bonus is ok - relic for each wonder found and + 50% faith from relics. (Also Buenos Aires is pretty good - bonus resources give 1 amenity - not bad). I'll start a scout, and research on animal husbandry I think - then pottery. The hut just gave exp which is nice, but  I definitely would have preferred a relic  mischief . I think that there is a world wonder to the north of Buenos Aires because there is faith on a grassland tile to the northwest of Buenos Aires. I'll send the scout that way, or I will circle up there whilst the warrior will go east.

Turn 6

Yerevan! Best Religious city state bar none. It allows you to pick any promotion on your apostles. We must keep suzerain on that.

Turn 11

Woops - a few turns have passed. Madrid of course picked up the marsh rice rather than the cows but we can cope with that. Research will go Pottery - Irrigation - Mining - Bronze Working probably.

Turn 15

I met Cleopatra either this turn or last turn and took out the encampment up by the north east warrior. The 2 city spots are possibles, though I will probably go for a city on the eastern dot and then I can put a sceond on the cotton or 1 south of the cotton. The eastern city spot would be an awesome city but I would prefer to have 2 mediocre cities rather than 1 super city. I will be able to get a harbour for Madrid on the southern coast which is good. Still no production anywhere to see! I like Kandy's land but I think it would be a mistake to go to war with them and lose the per holy site bonuses.

Turn 16

Holy site found! That tile could be worth up to 6 adjacency bonus per turn. The real question is do we kill Buenos Aires or just build a city on the other side of the mountains?  hammer

Turn 17

Turns out that wonder I saw was a grassland tobacco that didn't show on the screen frown. Ahh well. Pantheon wise I don't know what to go. The obvious thing would be something that gives faith but there aren't any stone quarries near me that won't be grabbed by a city state. I want to try something like "God of War". It would mean that I need to fight as much as possible to get the bonus from it. Maybe "Sacred Path"? I would but I will probably clear the jungle in the end and if I don't that is a lot of tiles that I can't use. ON the other hand there is no production so I probably want to keep the jungle for a long time anyway. Goddess of the harvest is also a possibility. That is one way to get a lot of faith quickly and there are lots of tile features around to be removed. Gooddess of the harvest it is.

Turn 20

Ephesus is founded a wopping 4 tiles from my capital (now, granted, I did move 3 tiles to start but that is not cool. Greece will get warred upon and soon. Hopefully wiping them out before IW. Maybe I should thank them for letting me use my hammers for military instead of for settlers.
