I'm casualling my way through these.
In order to have optimism about actually winning, I'd have to put in a lot more time. Not the turn time, I'm fine with that. The non-turn time.
But I'm here to play Civ, not Sandboxes&Spreadsheets, so I don't. Even if the mapmaker hands me a prepped sandbox, I'll fiddle with it for a few early runs to see what "feels smoother", but I don't write anything down.

My typical overarching goal is to use the KTB to get research bonuses, try to keep up with the field, inevitably fail, and be a stubborn opponent for whoever steamrolls me with Knights.
Hell, i don't even delete my workers when I'm dying, I'm not that spiteful.

I want to play with all the new things.

Messed around testing the Mod roflstomping the AI.
Picked Qin of Celts - D2,D4,G2,G3(from barracks) archers dash across hills, hit stuff on hills just fine, and the 50% withdraw is nice on the whole army.
With dual-national goodness.

Sad to have your UB expire though. (the 3 monument civs have the same problem)

Almost my turn.

America's Armory is very nice. 5xp units right out the gate.
Also starts with Fishing/Agri, so I can work the clam tile initially.

Leader. probably agg or indust. Almost anything would do, Stalin ideally.

If they both get picked in the next two picks, guess I punt.

America picked.

sandboxed a few runs last night with stalin (so no early production advantages)
T45 for Sz5, wb, 3 war, 3 work, 2 set, all cultured trees but the dry hill murdered, grains farmed, spice hill and river hill S of it mined - not in slavery yet
fish/agri start - mining>bw>wheel>pottery>sailing>1t worth of writing
