This is the "big" map that OH chose. Not too bad..
"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."

And... im already starting off with a gambit. Im going to be using a wagon to move a swordsman to OH's FAR barracks on the north side of the map. The target is his uncaptured barracks. The hope is i can rush there and he will have moved his own swordsman in a different way as to allow me to capture the barracks from him. If he does manage to fend off this gambit, i can just capture his tower instead. Meanwhile, im going to be running low on units built at home so i can afford an early giant or dragon from either the barracks or tower that i capture from OH. IF i can do that, i should be able to eliminate his northern holdings and win a quick victory.

What's first player balance on this map? Or is it just assumed that contact will take long enough it will have mostly evened out?

i honestly dont know if this map has any first person balancing. I didnt check. Most maps that are balanced are either 100 extra gold for first player, and an extra unit for the rest. But im hoping it doesnt matter here. Speaking of which.. i have a turn available.

Cant say the big map game is going badly. IDK what the hell OH was thinking, he went for a town instead of the barracks? Well, that allows me to capture it and i left enough gold left over to pop a giant out and try and rush down his barracks there. I also built a treb this turn to head towards the middle and lock that down.

Figure i might as well also post about the smaller map while im at it.
Heres what ive got so far. I decided to take the limited funds and use it to build a wagon for FAST movement. Then i loaded up my commander since he was the farthest away, and had the most to gain. Im capturing towns first as i believe the tower is basically useless to capture atm. I "should" have this one wrapped up fairly quickly as im going to capture both towns next turn and i dont think OH can counter or take them before i can benifit.. which puts me ahead in production.

Quick updates:
Fucked up a little bit with movement, could have gotten a crit dog attack on the spear.. will likely lose both damn dogs over it. Although, once my mage+ knight get here next turn i dont see him holding on very long. He can only really afford an aeronaut out of either of the towers if he has been saving, and those both do less than well against even an injured mage. I can see myself winning this one about 85% chance.
Big map.
I took a chance and moved a mage via wagon forward to see what was ahead of my treb... and JACKPOT. got a crit hit on his giant for most of his hp. His giant now must spend a turn healing ( not a hard thing on this super rich map ) but it puts it out of commission for a turn, which will be enough for my other units in the area to cut off the attack/destroy his barracks ect.
On the south end, ive built a dragon and plan on burning as much of the south as i can. Ill likely be spotted by that damn dog, but that dog will also be one of the first kills too. Have to possibly bring another treb/ballista into the south/north to fend off ground/air. .. i put this game at roughly 50/50 atm, but i like my positioning.

Big map is going HORRIBLY. Being overran in the weakside ( north ) and the south side i am in a horrible position.. might end up calling the big map here soon unless he makes some mistakes.
The small map, im recovering on and got a GREAT roll on his commander. He has his leap groove up, so he CAN get away.. but if he cannot kill/punish me, ill be able to do the same to him.

Im hoping to stablize the big map, but if he gets a good dragon smack or two on me its probably game. The small map is still somewhat up for grabs. His commander full healed thanks to the damn tower there, and i continue to spam mages because im hopeful they will become useful.. His lack of anti-air says i should maybe pop a swords followed by an aeronaut.. IF i dont die soon.

Stablizing the big map was a no-go.. He used his groove to double move his dragons and destroy BOTH of my ballista's. Resigned that game.
The small game could still go 50/50.. im hopeful that i can be annoying with an aeronaut starting next turn tho.
