I spent 3 weeks in Germany in 1988ish.
Grand total of what I learned is please, thank you, how to order a beer, and a few profanities.
Now I'm in a German game, playing Frederick of Germany.

Well they are talking about modifying starts.
I've got a single rice (at least it's wet) in my BFC. +5f
And the silver is dry, so working that will put me at only +3.
Hardly ideal, but not terrible. I can maintain a whip cycle anyway.
I moved 1n to preserve the river grass tile and get the rice in the first ring.
Water is a lake, and looks like only 5 tiles.
Tech path will be Agri, BW, Wheel, Pottery.
Of course if there is no Copper, I'll probably have to grab archery.

Didn't get a shot, but my new version has no rice.
Grassland Pigs and a Lake Fish instead.
Ultimately more food, but the delay while I research fishing and then build a workboat hurts.
Starting with Agriculture is now near useless.

Enjoy the game!
I played in the predecessor (PB73) but won't have time to do so this time around. But of course I will follow developments all around the world by reading as many stories as I can. That's currently 37 over at civforum.de plus the ones over here.

Yes.
Should be downloadable via this post:

T10.
Not a lot to report.
Here is a screenshot anyway.
That is a LOT of land with only 3 food resources (and 2 cows..)
So far the logical spot for city 2 is 1 north of Stone.
Tech path is Fishing (done, but I'm finishing the worker before I start the boat), Bronze Working (in progress), Agriculture, Animal Husbandry.
I may divert for Masonry and try to build the Great Wall after that. There are a lot of animals around, I don't want Deity barbarian hordes to deal with. Of course with 52 players, someone may finish it before I even research Masonry. If it's a neighbor, I'll build 5 axes and go take it instead.
Build order. Worker. Workboat. Warriors to grow and build a sentry net. Chops into my first settler.

Fimi is 9.5 tiles away.
He built at least one warrior, it's been lurking around my border for a while (and not moving every turn)
In 6t I find out if I have copper.

T20 map.
I'm already dead last in pop and food, and it's not getting better anytime soon.
Deer between Fimi and I. If I settle SE of it, I'll get a river trade route to my cap and it can share 2 river cottages with my capital.
Which might move that up to city 2, delaying stone for 3. Still depends where the copper is.
