If you're not sure where to find a copy of Master of Orion, how to get it to run on your computer (it was designed for MS-DOS), or even how to play the game, your best bet would be to visit Sirian's Resources page. So now, you just need to know how to download and run the Imperia, right? No problem! First, please ensure that you have Master of Orion running, and that you're using version 1.3. Activating the Save Slots Master of Orion has six save slots, but it wasn't designed to support downloaded or imported saves. MOO will not look for saved games if it doesn't already think that the slot is in use. It's like making a complete web site, but not linking the front page to any of your other pages. So, you're going to save dummy games to all six slots, EXPECTING those games to be overwritten with real games at some point. Slots 1 and 2 will be left open for you to use in solo games. If you are interested in Sirian's Tutorial games, they use save slots 3 and 4. The Imperia will use slots 5 and 6 (Imperium one is slot 5). Downloading the Saves Once you've activated your save slots, you just need to download the save files that you're interested in, unzip them to the proper directory, and play! Please keep in mind that if you downloaded any game saves before you activated your save slots, you will need to download them again at this point. Some players have had difficulties with the file extraction software that comes with Windows. Winzip seems to work well, and a free evaluation version is available on their site. When in Doubt, Ask! If you still have questions, please don't hesitate to ask on the forums. Try to provide as much specific information as possible. If your question includes spoiler information about an Imperium in progress, your best bet is to email the game's sponsor rather than posting to the forum. |
