Introduction
You are the almighty hamster, yet no one gives a moosenugget about you. Sad, isn't it? Well, they must be made to see your mightiness! Being a hamster, you are very territorial and possibly easy to tempt into slaying players. Before attacking, you must warn them with oddly phrased hamsterly responses. If they taunt you by saying the name of one of your predators (enchanted items that could eat you), you might say "The hamster dislikes and tends to become crazed and homicidal when provoked!" Perhaps the simple "SQUEE" and running to hide is appropiate. Afterall, they wouldn't torment a nice little rodent unless they knew something about it, would they? If they didn't know you'd attack, then it's their fault for tormenting a poor little rodent! That is the law of nature! Fight or Flight! Eat or be Eaten! Wheecht or be Wheecht!... err ...of course, you can be tamed and not attack things that scare you.
Well, anyway, enough about that. There are a few reams of rules to go through. :o]
The Rules
Starting off, you have to sell your short sword, buckler, and club to Griswold. He won't talk to you yet, so go find stuff. For more information on this, see the quest section.
You are a Hamster, smaller than the average warrior... just as smart and agile, but considerably weaker. You need double the listed (humanoid) strength requirement to use and item with a strength requirement.
Example
You must have 36 strength to use a Short Sword, 50 for a Small Shield, and a whopping 180 for Full Plate Mail.
You also have really bad eyesight! You can barely see 3 feet in front of your face! This means that you must play on ZOOM mode (press Z to initiate Zoom Mode). You may un-zoom in town. In dungeon, you may only unzoom if you are currently using Infravision (Murky Pool or Scroll of Infravision) or you have -80% or less (less being -90%, for example, not -70%) Light Radius.
You may not have more than a total of +10% light radius. Any more than +10% hurts your eyes. Since you are visually impared, using items "of the Dark" is very highly recommended.
Items of nobility are restricted. See the quest section for more details.

Quests are all optional, but know that if you do not do some particular quests you will be as restricted as a clvl 1 Hamster. Plus, the quests are fun. :o]
1) The Quest for Respect
Starting off you're level one. Ah, fresh and brand-new. You've even got that "new char smell." The townspeople of Tristram don't seem to like you very much, however...
The people of Tristram, excluding Cain, dislike rodents. Cain, for a reason that may or may not have to do with Pixips, will always be there to identify things for you. The others, however, must have their respect earned. To be more clear, here are some "Do"s and "Don't"s.
-You can sell things to Adria and Griswold but NOT buy things or get repairs. (They'll just think there's item gnomes running around and leave out the appropiate sum of money for you.)
-You cannot buy things from Pepin or recieve free healing.
-Wirt will not talk to you, you're lower than him. (Only in his mind, the little...)
-No talking to wounded townsman, barmaid, the sot, or Ogden.
-The Cows are your friends. There's Belle (top), Bessie (middle), and S***-Spot (bottom). (Note: calling S***-Spot by her name angers her as she doesn't like the name.)
Winning Respect
For each townsperson you wish to talk to, you must slay a unique creature in that person's name. You may not slay the same unique creature twice and free up two townspeople.
Once you have won everyone's respect in a particular difficulty, you can use them any time you wish. You do not have to win everyone's respect as a whole before you can use everyone, it's one unique creature per person and you can use them individually.
Further notes... Leoric will always free up Ogden. Butcher will always free up slain/wounded townsman. However, you may use different bosses to free up these people. Finally, this quest is re-initiated when you enter a new difficulty.
2) Quest to Slay Wirt
You must kill the peg-legged bum!
Part 1
Round up 11 staves from the Hell or Caves levels, all from within the same game. You may not use fire-resistant staves to burn wirt as they will not burn properly.
Part 2
Drop one at his foot & peg (I would say feet but he only has one.), skip a space, and drop another. Keep doing this until you get to the bridge. When you get to the bridge, make sure that your weapon or shield is missing at least 1 durability. Cast your repair skill on it and it will spark! The bridge will start burning and then one-by-one the staves will catch fire until the blaze finally reaches Wirt... and kills him. (Well, not actually, but just to imagine it! :) You then will have killed the menace known as Wirt! For doing this great deed, you will be looked upon with awe and respect as you proudly procliam that you killed Wirt!
Normal title: Smiter of Wirt
Nightmare title: Slayer of Wirt
Hell title: Destroyer of Wirt
3) Quest of Might
Since Hamsterism is all about proving oneself, you can prove yourself to be tougher than a particular banned unique item, in which case it is no longer banned for you. To prove yourself tougher than a particular banned unique you must do the following:
-Obtain the particular item.
-Unequip your other stuff.
-Drop all potions currently in your pack and leave them in town.
-Go to an area where you don't get exp and use it until it breaks! This area must be the hardest area possible for you yet you still get no exp. If you die before the item, it wins and you may try again later. If the item breaks, you've proven yourself tougher than it and you may use it the next time you obtain it!
You may do this with only uniques. You may do this with multiple uniques at once so long as you're trying to prove yourself tougher than each one of them.
4) Quest for a Home
Being a hamster you live in holes and other such things. You enjoy nice wood-chippings and cool airy tunnels. Sadly, your summer home in Tristram, the Caves, has been defiled! They've knocked down your doorways, ruined your cleanly dug tunnels, and worst of all: They left vile rivers of goo! While you don't clearly know what this goo is, you know it must be cleaned up! Your first order of business is to kick out the home-wreckers!
Part 1 Getting rid of unwanted guests
That's right! Kill them all! Destroy those fiends that stole your nice tunnels! But to kick them out for good, you must find their bosses. So kill every boss that can possibly appear in the caves.
Part 2 Getting rid of the Goo
This goo... its smell is overwhelming, the eerie glow from it is enough to give even a Whale the creeps, and worst of all... it has HAIR FLOATING IN IT!! Ewwww!! It's bad enough that they seem to excrete and eat it, but HAIR IN IT?!?! That's just sick!!
First you need to set up a fire wall upon a corpse on dlvl 12 to get rid of the stink in this place. Now drop a staff near a goo river and cast item repair on something metal. The goo will now burn. During this time you'll not want to inhale any of the fumes, so in under two minutes (don't count load times) you must run to the steps to the next higher dungeon level. While the corpse burns, it is creating such a potent smell that you can't concentrate to cast spells!
Once in town, get a broom (flail) to clean up the hair that will be left from the goo. Carry that with you and it will magically absorb the hair on the floor as you walk through each level until you get to level 13. (You do not have to equip the flail, just keep it in your pack. If you are already using a flail, you must buy another one because the hair will gunk up the chains on the one you're using.)
Reward
If you completed all of the above then you have won! You are now rewarded with your Tristramian home again! What?! That's not good enough?! Eh, well, you may use anything that you found while doing this even if it's not normally allowed.
5) The Rage
There comes a time in every Hamster's life where it sees life differently and WANTS TO TEAR THINGS TO BITS! Verily, it shall be so! Your first rage is against the glutton known as the Butcher.
Part 1: The Butcher
-Items allowed to be equipped during this fight: Stuff with +Hit Recovery Speed and +To Hit non-weapons.
-Take a maximum of 2 partial healing potions and 1 full healing potion.
-Descend into the dungeon until you reach level 2.
-Make your way to the Butcher and make sure the area around his room is free and clear of little things. Drink the full healing potion even if you took no damage on the way down.
-FIGHT Butcher hand-to-hand! You may drink only the two partial health potions during this fight.
-No spells during the fight.
This quest may be done at any time. It is a test of power and worth. The lower level you can complete this test, the tougher you are.
This may be done on any difficulty, although on higher difficulties Butcher'll be tougher so you can drink 2 full health potions in Nightmare and 3 in Hell. Also in higher difficults, you may use non-offensive spells.
Reward for Part 1: You now feel RAGE toward the Skeleton King!
Part 2: Skeleton King
-Items allowed to be equipped during this fight: Stuff with +Hit Recovery Speed and +To Hit non-weapons. A Two-Handed sword may be used if you feel haughty and want to mimic him. Be warned that he'll be tougher if you use the sword. (He's undead so he'll only take half damage.)
-Take a maximum of 3 partial healing potions and 1 full healing potion.
-Descend into the dungeon until you reach level 3.
-Make your way to Leoric and make sure to clear away his vile little skeleton friends so you can have a good clean duel to the death. Drink the Full Healing potion before you lay a hit on Leoric.
-FIGHT Leoric.
-No spells during the fight.
This may be done on any difficulty, adjusting healing potions like so:
Normal: 3 partial healing potions for duel.
Nightmare: You may take along 5 partial healing potions.
Hell: You may take along 4 Full Healing Potions.
Also in higher difficults, you may use non-offensive spells.
Reward for Part 2 : You now feel RAGE towards Diablo.
Part 3: Diablo
-Make your way to level 16 and clear enough of the level so that you can have a nice, clean, uninterrupted fist-fight with Diablo. Eh, or fight him and his minions. It's up to you. :o]
-Items allowed to be equipped during this fight: Stuff with +Hit Recovery Speed and +To Hit non-weapons.
-You may wish to put Diablo inside the maze and then go to town to make sure you have enough potions. You may use up to 6 potions of Full Healing, or 8 partial healing potions in Normal. Nightmare allows 10 Full Healing Potions. Hell allows 12 Full Healing Potions.
-You may attempt this with multiple people at once so long as they're fist-fighting, too.
Reward for Part 3:
-Normal Difficulty: You are Knighted and may use Knight's enchantment and below plus.
-Nightmare Difficulty: You gain the title of Master and may use Master's enchantment and Overlord's Helm.
-Hell Difficulty- You get a coronation and become King! You may use King's enchantment and below. You may also proceed to Part 4... if you dare.
Part 4: Beyond Hell
-Kill Hell Difficulty Diablo with your fists while wearing nothing but +To Hit jewelry, -HP items, and wearing either Torn Flesh of Souls, Messerschmidt's Reaver, or the Black Razor.
-Do this without going to town and without death to D.
Should you succeed, you become a Hamsterish Deity. Here are some names to choose from, or make up your own.
List
Niarg - Hamster Food Deity (Enjoys potions and other consumables)
Dapestehes- Hamster Refelex and Quickness Deity (Enjoys hasted items and has many of them)
