This variant was created after Grarrrg ran into one "Conan O'Brien" in a Battle.Net channel. After a brief interview we decided that Conan needed a sidekick.

You must ALWAYS be playing cooperatively with someone. You're a sidekick/bandleader, you would be lost if you were to attempt playing alone. You must also co-op with 'Andy Richter' or 'Conan O'Brien' whenever possible. Monsters are the studio audience.

Armor
All light armor and mail excluding rags, cloaks, and capes. He never wears these on the show, but he has been known to wear a robe from time to time for various skits.

Helms
Max must carry two helms (drums) at all times, but he may only equip crowns (otherwise your hair would get messed up). Crowns do not count as drums.

Jewelry
Rings are ok, but no amulets. Does he wear an amulet on the show? I thought not.

Shields
Max can use shields. Where would a percussionist be without nice cymbals?

Weapons
Any and all blunts (drum-sticks), this includes non-bladed staves.
Must carry (equipped or in pack) two drumsticks at all times.
May not use swords, axes, or bows. These could rip a hole in your drums and that would be bad.

Enchantments
Max may not use any weapon that grants fire or lightning damage as these could damage your drums.
No Bat/Vampire/Leech, but Blood is ok because Max has been known to bleed/be around blood on air.
Gold/Obsidian jewelry is preferred over all others.
May not wear anything that adds to HP.
May not wear anything that decreases light radius.

Uniques
Uniques are allowed if the base item is allowed.

Heal Other (You always 'help' get laughs from the studio audience.). It must be the first spell learned. Other allowed spells are Healing, Town portal, Mana Shield (only after "quest of the perfect cymbal" has been completed), Fireball, Elemental, and Chain Lightning (they are loud), Golem (a band leader needs a band)

May also freely use any 'Jokes', regardless of whether or not he has learned Heal Other yet. Jokes are as follows:

1) Quest of the Perfect Cymbal
Enter the deepest you can go and still have a good chance at surviving and clear all levels except for one of the bosses on (multiple of 4), if you have found a unique shield on any of the four levels then equip that, and only that and proceed to slay the (multiple of 4) unique monster by way of shield bashing. Town may not be used during this quest. Diablo counts as a unique monster.
