First: create a new character and put (ARC) after your name to show that your playing by the Archer rules.

Rules for the Archer Class: An Archer is permitted to carry one magical, non-unique bow and one magical, non-unique dagger. All other equipment must be non-magical. Armor can be no heavier than chain mail and headgear can only be a cap. A shield may NEVER be used.

Archers disdain being dependant on magic. Because of this, they will:
Never read any spellbook
Never use any magic jewelry
Only cast spells from the scrolls (either found or bought)

Archers are aloof of idol worship. They scoff at shrines. They will not touch shrines, altars, or magic pools.

Even Archers recognize the need to use magic potions. They don't like it, but they will use them. Elixirs are another form of potions.

Playing an Archer means you play a rogue as a rogue, with an emphasis on skill rather than objects. Armor restictions are meant to reflect the 'scout' role of the archer and the need to move swiftly. Rogue will use magic as a matter of convienience, not dependence. The bow is the Archers strength, and she will always seek to find a better one. The Sisters make the finest bows in the world, so a bow found or bought was likely made by them. Uniques are viewed with disdain. An Archer should provide the same challenge as BNM (BNM's rely entirely upon spells and avoid melee at all costs).
