The Crazy Guy in
the Woods is a Sorcerer, Warrior, or Rogue that one day inexplicably snaps,
and runs into the woods. Theoretically, it can also be any variant. To
make a Crazy Guy in the Woods, create a new character and mark it's name
with CGW. The CGW is a role (according to Charis' rules for roles, if
you are playing a CGW, you may also be another variant). The rules for
the other variant take precedence over the rules for the crazy guy. Philosophy:
Be nuts! have annoying hotkeys and cause general and specific mayhem where
ever you go!! The CGW is a very social variant, but they are NOT stupid.
They run from pks, just like anyone else. All of these quests may be performed
with the help of another character.
Spells:
The CGW may only use the following spells: Charged bolt, Firebolt, Heal
other, Firewall, lightning, Town Portal, Telekinesis, Flamewave, Mana
Shield, Stonecurse and all level 4 spells. They can use any scrolls besides
Identify or Resurrect. They cannot use non-unique staves other than the
one they start out with.
Equipment:
You have a great amount of freedom when deciding what equipment to use.
This is an opportunity to use all those items that were too "weird" to
use before. Uniques that have no drawbacks are a no-no. Also, Obs/zods
and other such super-high level items are outlawed. Items of haste are
not allowed (but Items of speed and below are.) super-slow-swing items
are very good (IE messy). If you find any Strange or Weird weapons, and
they are an allowable item type, they MUST be worn. The last, and most
restrictive rule is, no bastard swords! They have too many sharp little
points, and the hilt is too small, to be safe for a Crazy dude.
Levelups:
All points must be put in a single stat until it is maxed, then you must
do the same with all the others. Ranks are measured in order, from Mite
(When you just start) to Apocalyptic Emu(Gold)
From Mite to Weevil:
Get to level 5 and Get a piece of equipment destroyed by the butcher from
full durability.
From Weevil to
Moth:
get to level 7 and kill Leoric without stunlocking him once. If you stunlock
him, even once, you have to let him kill you.
From Moth to Lemming:
To visit at least 10 goat shrines. from lemming to hippo get 10 of your
ears, and 10 Identify scrolls(this is the only time you are allowed to
use them), set "will you be my valentine" to one of your hotkeys, and
run from game to game on open b.net, Iding and dropping your ears, and
hitting the hotkey! after this quest is completed, you cannot change your
b.net name.
From Hippo to Llama:
For a mage and rogue: The quest for the death of Diablo. Kill all of the
other monsters on Diablo's level, and trap Diablo in the maze. Then lead
him out again into the open, and play tag with him, over a bunch of firewalls.
The only allowed spells are: Firewall, Golem, and Guardian (only one guardian
is allowed at a time) For a warrior: Kill him with spells. that simple.
any spells, just make sure that Diablo is dead at the end.
From Llama to Emu:
Mexican Stand off with Diablo on nightmare. You only get 1 hit on him
for every hit he gets on you, so make those hits count! Also, no pots
are allowed while doing the standoff.
From Emu to Apocalyptic
Emu: Kill Diablo on hell level, AFTER being killed by him!
Special Event:
Sumo Wrestling This is a spectator sport, so it must be performed with
4 people in the game. On normal level, enter Diablo's level, and clear
it. then strip down, leaving your stuff in town. now, have your friends
make an arena around Diablo with firewalls. then enter the ring. you must
push him out, using telekinesis or items of the bare. the first one out
loses. Once you do this, you gain the title of Rhino. Do it on nightmare,
and you are a Nightmarish Rhino Oh hell, you are a Diabolic Rhino.
Hallucination:
Like the Amazon, the CGW may get an Idea for a quest. If they can accomplish
it, they should take a cursed item type (of dyslexia for instance) and
wear it. Describe the quest on the Beach!
