Perfectionist

Class: any Equipment:
The perfectionist seeks to wield and use equipment with perfect stats
for their category, but has some latitude in his choices -- he may focus
on either class, quality, or enchantment. Try to think about which your
own perfectionist would like to do; if you mix and match, there would
be really no restrictions at all. Attitude: The perfectionist is not what you would call a jack-of all-trades, but tends to focus on one or two things and does that to the very best of his ability. If he prizes Dex and blocking, he will tend to ignore other stats in the quest to perfect dex. Should high AC be his goal, he will gladly let resists suffer to wear the very best plate. Same idea if he focuses on hp, damage, spell ability... Because of this all or nothing attitude, if he can't find an item suitable for his character & level, he will wear nothing in that slot. Spells: Rather than using rare spells only, the perfectionist will not cast a spell at a wimpy level. In fact he will NEVER cast a spell until it is at least spell lvl 5, or 1/3 of his character level (rounded down), whichever is HIGHER. Scrolls: If the effect is LESS than if he were to cast the spell himself, he will not use the scroll. (Res, nova, etc., are fine) Other quirks: The perfectionist will quite frequently choose to 'practice' a spell, technique, or use of a weapon, and may do an entire section of the dungeon with one or two spells, or telekilling an entire level. Also, should he try to use 'stealth' mode, nothing less than the full -80% l.r. would suffice. Keep in mind this is meant to be a role playing character with items a bit hard to find, not a strict list of rules. As *soon* as it is economically feasible, the perfectionist will only buy yellow potions (but may use reds/blues found). Shrines: those which will encourage perfectionist ideals may be used, random ones or those that hurt are to be avoided. Coop and gifts: will happily play with other characters, but will not accept gifts except drinks - they must trade or pay for an item, and it should not be an inappropriate item. Special items: the following suffixes are always allowed, and permit their choice even if another aspect of the item is non-ideal -- Perfection, Thunder, Burning, Merciless, Emerald, King's. Cursed items are never acceptable, neither are the lowest class of suffixes ever used (red, zest, etc.). Also, unique items are worn if they are of the highest quality, not because of their rarity. Example good artifacts: Royal Circlet, Grandfather, Eaglehorn, Gotterdamerung. The unique rings will rarely be appropriate, and the following are example artifacts that would not be used: Doombringer, Celestial Axe, Bow of the Dead, Scavenger's Carapice, and similar 'mixed' items. Stats: any stat may be increased, but all a given lvl-up all five must go to the same stat. The perfectionist will seek to max out the primary stat of his/her class as soon as possible, and loves Elixirs. Degree: the perfectionist is not opposed to proving his worth, and the following (*purely optional*) quests and ranks apply: To Become: he/she must: and can afterwards wear no item...: the Adept kill Butch with flair of less quality than used on Butch the Skillful *full* clear of Cats that is non-magical the Accurate first dot by 20 of lowest two quality levels the Precise second dot by 25 except top two levels in category the Perfectionist 3@30 That is not the best in category. note - whether these are followed strictly or not, the perfectionist will strive without ceasing to kill Diablo at the earliest possible levels, ie. Normal-17 or less, NM-as close to 20 as he can, Hell-30.
