  PBEM6 post-game thread
Posted by: SevenSpirits - May 19th, 2011, 23:29 - Forum: PBEM6 - Replies (9)

With Nakor a few turns from elimination, Lewwyn and I discussed what we wanted to do after and decided to just call it in my favor. I'm too far ahead in tech and demographics, and that's with half my cities still growing incredibly rapidly. The most likely end would simply be a UN victory (only two techs, a building, and some food away) before our NAP even runs out.

With Nakor's permission, we didn't wait for his last city to fall a few turns from now. So, good game! Final positions -

1. SevenSpirits
2. Lewwyn (previously athlete4life)
3. Nakor
4. Ruff (previously Jowy)
5. The Reverend Doctor

Though what really matters is that we had fun, right? smile Thanks everyone for playing, and to Bob for the map! (I thought it was pretty cool.) And now I'm going to go read all your threads!

  Potential PBEM17 Replacement
Posted by: Kyan - May 19th, 2011, 11:13 - Forum: Civilization General Discussion - Replies (9)

Hey, i was wondering if anyone would like to take over my civ in PBEM17. If so, post in my thread and i'll do you a full turn report etc. All 6 players are around equal strength currently.

The reason for my posting this is that i've discovered FfH and as such, am finding regular BtS far less interesting. I currently dedicate a significant portion of time to the game and whilst my game position should reflect that, it's time i am beginning to feel bitter about spending. It's only fair to the other players that everyone gives their all so i figured someone else might jump at the opportunity. Let me know, cheers.

  PBEM4 GREENS Postgame Thread
Posted by: Kyan - May 18th, 2011, 11:40 - Forum: PBEM4 - Replies (6)

The game is dead. Long live the game.

I wanted to say thank you to Jowy, seifer_md, Malakai, Strike666, Twinkletoes, Cull and Tatan for an enjoyable game.

I was planning on winning backdoor democratic win via United Nations which would have been successful within 13 turns or so. The game was pretty much dead as i was at 100% tech permanently at the end and using my naval advantage and 'reserve stack' to force both seifer and Tatan into whipping/drafting into the ground.

Updated: All players can now email turns to the tracker, rbpbem19@gmail.com.

Well, after signing up to replace Tatan in PBEM 10 and losing in some sort of record 0 turns, I'd still like to try a PBEM. Would there be anyone else interested? My Civ-fu isn't very strong, but eh, how else will I learn? I'm a Monarch level player without any CIV MP experience, but I'd be happy to share with a teammate as well.

Hey, lurkers and dead people. Here's your very own spot to talk about the machinations in Werewolf 5.

Since I'm already dead, I get the first post smile.

  Werewolf 5 game thread
Posted by: Mardoc - May 15th, 2011, 06:02 - Forum: Werewolf Archives - Replies (1169)

Life was good in Bistritz. You had your work, the warm Tavern, and winter had just begun. Unfortunately, two days ago was the night the Count came to town. He spent the night in the best room (although, strangely, the bed was untouched). He left the next morning, and you couldn't shake your sense of unease. Then, this morning, you woke up to find an blizzard had hit; there's no way anyone can leave without freezing to death. That happens. What doesn't usually happen is someone finding bits and pieces of Mayor Mardoc littering the town square.

You've heard of this before. There are werewolves in town - and they're hungry.

The below spoiler tags are for organization only. You may read them.

Rules:
NOTE! There have been some changes since the pre-game; read these through.

1. 48 hour days / 24 hour nights. Phase ends at 2000 GMT even if the moderator isn't online.
2. Roles will be randomly assigned. Players will be either human or wolf and may in addition have a secret role. Quoting PMs from the moderator is forbidden, you may paraphrase in your own words. The Vanilla Villager PM will be published openly.
3. Humans win if all wolves are eliminated from the game.
4. Wolves win if they make up 50% or more of the remaining voting power at the end of a phase.
5. Wolves may communicate out of thread, humans may not unless allowed to by their role.
6. During the day each player may cast one vote for someone to be lynched.
7. Lynch votes must be posted in red or they will not count.
8. The player with most lynch votes at the end of the day is killed. In the event that two or more players are tied for the most votes, the mayor's vote counts for 1.1 votes. In the event the mayor wasn't voting for one of the tied players, he should as soon as possible, but at maximum 6 hours from day end choose one to die. If he does not, I will select one of the tied players randomly.
9. Mayor is determined by a vote on any day the office is vacant. In the event of a tie, the mayor will be chosen randomly from those tied. Mayor votes must be posted in lime green, or they will not count.
10. Wolves may pick one of their number to carry out a kill at night. Wolves may submit a kill order on behalf of their teammates, but in case wolves submit conflicting orders as to the kill details, the last received order has precedence.
11. Night actions resolve in the following order simultaneously within each group: Roleblocking, Other actions that interfere with actions, miscellaneous actions, Kills. This should not be taken as confirmation or denial that such roles are present in the game.
12. Dead players may make one posthumous post that doesn't contribute to discussion.
13. Anyone failing to vote for 2 consecutive game days will be declared MIA and removed from the game.
14. To prevent confusion that may arise in the case of cross posting, posts may not be edited.
15. Breaking the rules will result in penalties ranging from warnings to being mod killed depending on the severity of the infraction.

Vanilla Townsman:
Villager Wrote:Oh, no. No. This can't be happening.

You are a resident of the small town of Bistritz, and your foremost desire is to make the werewolves die. If that requires that you hang everyone else in town, so be it!

You are a Villager. You win when all the werewolves are dead. You have no special powers.

Finally, to prevent metagaming, I encourage any correspondance about this game to be via e-mail instead of PM. My e-mail address is RBMardoc (at) gmail (dot) com.

Day 1 begins now. It ends at 2000 GMT, Tuesday May 17th.

Post your lynch votes in red and your mayor votes in lime

Looking for FFH PBEM3 replacement from May 28 until June 2
Posted by: Nyktorion - May 15th, 2011, 02:45 - Forum: Civilization General Discussion - Replies (1)

Hi,

I'm currently playing in FFH PBEM3, however, due to a conference visit, I won't be able to play my turns for a bit less than a week (I'll have internet, but no civ), and I currently don't have any ded. lurker I could ask to take over.

So, if any of you is unspoiled in FFH PBEM3, would you like to take over for that time? Details:

Civ: you would be playing Thessa of the Ljosalfar
Timeframe: you would be taking over from May 28 until June 2, i.e. you would most probably be playing for 6 turns
Game Pace: there are currently 5 civs in the game, and we have been moving at a constant 1 turn/day for quite a long time now
Game situation: currently (Sunday, May 15), we are at T132; in-game-score wise, we are currently ranked 4th out of 5 (the current ranking is Malakim - Elohim - Lanun - Ljosalfar - Sheaim)
More details: see my spoiler thread at http://realmsbeyond.net/forums/showthread.php?t=4405

If you are interested, please simply respond to this post, or send me a PM; I could fill you in on further details then.

Diablo 3 Follower System Leaked Video

Man this forum needs some love smile

Here's just a little bit of a D3 fix. Believe this is a newly leaked video so others may not have seen it. Definitely looks like a more involved and interesting system than D2.

Scooter and I have decided to restart our AW Duel games -- this time going for a "Modern Age" start since we've never made it anywhere near that far in our games. We don't know exactly what to expect but part of the fun is finding out! We'd like to use a mirror map to make is balanced but mirrored maps are terrible at placing resources and the starts are not always in the same mirrored location. Is there anyone who would be willing to generate a mirrored map for us and then do some simple editing to make sure the capital has decent food and that the strategic resources are available somewhere, etc.? Once we find someone willing to do it, we can nail down details.
