Born in the small village of Cluj, Romania, Carpathia's birth was the product of genetic engineering AND artificial insemination project. His mother, Marilena, is unwittingly convinced by the followers of Satan to become the mother of a child who, they assure her, will change the face of the world. Marilena stays with her husband, Sorin, until the baby is born, insisting that her "son" keep the strong "Carpathia" name.
Through his parents, Carpathia possesed a very unique bloodline, dating back to Ancient Rome, so he could actually claim to be of Roman descendant.

Okay so the players are getting antsy to start and Amelia didn't want to be the map maker anyway and is busy on top of it...
So I offered to help, while having never tried to make a map for a multiplayer game before *sigh*
From what Information i managed to wrangle I MAYBE just need to create a map in a one player game and then edit it for balance in worldbuilder then save as a worldbuilder file.
Turnorder SEEMS like it can be sorted out later either by a trick i don't know, or by manually editing the worldbuilder file.
...Help?
I'll post screen shots of the screens as i set up the map and then some screenshots of some maps that seem like they could be made workable
(Did someone think that this script was balanced? I've been looking at the different maps it shows up for a few minutes and allready i've seen some silly things like a nation having 3 grassland river golds RIGHT NEXT TO the capital starting location. In what universe is that balanced?)

Well... this is my first ever FFH PBEM game, and as stated before, I'm a total noob at the game, really no clue whatsoever what I'm doing here. Mostly I just want to not totally embarrass myself, have fun, make friends with everyone, pass out cookies, you know, that sort of thing. Hey, everyone, have a cookie right now:

Okay that surely filled up enough space for mouseover/quick click protection. Let's get to the heart of matters.
(Yes, I know I'm completely ripping off PB. There are worse footsteps to follow in around here.)

Master of Orion II: Fastest Way to Kill the Antarans? |

(I'm sure the MoO advocates around here don't like MoO2, but I never played MoO when I was younger, so I don't have nostalgia for it. Plus, I have a thing for games with fun diverse options, even if they're not at all balanced, e.g. FFT, FF5, MoM, or MoO2.)
I've been playing some MoO2 again and returning to an old problem: what's the lowest-tech, lowest production way to kill off the Antarans? Obviously, you need Dimensional Portal, so you can get lucky with the ancient navigator, steal it from the AIs, or research up to it. Killing the Antarans' fleet is easy: with no shields, they're fodder for EMG missiles. The Star Fortress isn't vulnerable to EMG missiles, though, so you need a weapon that can run through all of its HP. With Creative, it's not too bad, since the Death Rays from Orion coupled with good computers and the Automated Repair unit can usually manage, but I keep wondering if there's some combination of tech and production that can get it done sooner, especially without using Creative's special system advantages.

So, I just came into a spare desktop (that is, a new laptop that makes the desktop into a spare) and I've been wanting to test out running a Pitboss game. In the past there had been discussion of an AW pitboss game. Is there anyone interested in such a thing? I'm thinking not a massive big game necessarily. More "average" sized like 4-6. But I'd be pretty open to anything.

The ten of you had only just arrived this morning as the garrison for XCOM's newest base, a radar outpost hidden away in the Andes. The base had only been established recently in the hopes of calming the South American public after news reports of frequent UFO llama abductions across Peru.
After unloading all the gear and a bland lunch of standard XCOM issue rations, you were settling into your daily duty routines when the base was shaken by a loud explosion. Alarms blared through the base as smoke poured out of the communications room.
When you gathered there, the room and its expensive equipment had been wrecked. A smoking rocket launcher lay discarded against a wall. Worst of all, body parts were scattered around the room. After a few seconds the awkward silence broke as everyone started talking at once.
"Ugh, I think that was the skyranger pilot."
"I always wanted to kill that guy anyway, who the hell blew him up first?"
"Damn it people, there are aliens on our base!"
"Traitor!"
"No you're the traitor!"
It was going to be a long day...
Skyranger Pilot, Human Idiot was blown to pieces by a rocket launcher

Rules (up for discussion)
1. 48 hour days / 24 hour nights. Phase ends at 2000 GMT even if the moderator isn't online.
2. Roles will be randomly assigned. Players will be either human or alien and may in addition have a secret role. Quoting PMs from the moderator is forbidden, you may paraphrase in your own words.
3. Humans win if all aliens are eliminated from the game.
4. Aliens win if they make up 50% or more of the remaining players at the end of a phase.
5. Aliens may communicate out of thread, humans may not unless allowed to by their role.
6. During the day each player may cast one vote for someone to be lynched.
7. Votes must be posted in red or they will not count.
8. The player with most lynch votes at the end of the day is killed. In the event that two or more players are tied for the most votes, no one will be lynched.
9. Aliens may pick one of their number to carry out a kill at night. Aliens may submit a kill order on behalf of their teammates, but in case aliens submit conflicting orders as to the kill details, the last received order has precedence.
10. Night actions resolve in the following order simultaneously within each group: Roleblocking, Other actions that interfere with actions, miscellaneous actions, Kills. This should not be taken as confirmation or denial that such roles are present in the game.
11. Dead players may make one posthumous post that doesn't contribute to discussion.
12. Anyone failing to vote for 2 consecutive game days will be declared MIA and removed from the game.
13. To prevent confusion that may arise in the case of cross posting, posts may not be edited.
14. Breaking the rules will result in penalties ranging from warnings to being mod killed depending on the severity of the infraction.
Standard human PM:
Quote:You are a Human Soldier.
You signed up for the action and you're getting it a lot earlier than you anticipated, but right now all you want to do is get off this base in one piece. But you'll have to kill the alien infiltrators to do so.
You have no special powers apart from your vote.
