[SPOILERS] Ioan's first attempt to Civ6 world

Well... this was probably a delicate way to point out that I'm a idiot that I didn't accepted yet friendship of Persia. wink

Which I did right now.
I check also Zulu's cities and status: he's at 6 cities and have horses - so my assumption is that he and Persia should be able to resist Nubia' special archers until I get crossbow to counter them.

Well, overall situation is bad. frown

Even if I'm just 2 turns away from Crossbows - which could get me a chance to stand against Nubia' special archers - it seems that Military Score of both Zulu and Persia decrease too fast. While Nubia's one goes beyond 1300!!!
Just to amuse myself I'll probably declare war upon Rusia. More likely the game will have a runaway leader soon - even for the moment I didn't notice any city-exchange from Diplomacy screen.

OK, it looks like we are done this game - at from my point of view. frown

OK, is that a concession? Just want to clarify.
Sending units to their death since 2017.

Don't do what I did: PBEM 3 - Arabia , PBEM 6 - Australia This worked well enough: PBEM 10 - Aztecs Gamus Interruptus: PBEM 14 - Indonesia
Gathering Storm Meanderings: PBEM 15 - Gorgo You Say Pítati, I Say Potato: PBEM 17 - Nubia The Last of the Summer Wine: PBEM 18 - Eleanor/England
Rhymin' Simon: PBEM 20 - Indonesia (Team w/ China)

Not sure how an official concession would look like but is close to this.  bang

I played suboptimal ( no pun intended  rolleye ) but the map also hate me. How to gift such a huge defensive bonus like between Rome and Russia?  rant

For that reason I picked Fertility Rites as my belief and I was aiming for that Religious Building which provide Faith + Food + 1 Housing ( can't remember now the name... ). I even planned/hoped to be able to build Hanging Gardens for this purpose... so naïve...  dito

That's because I didn't realize how fast wars between players will happen!!  banghead

As a prove: is just T72 and I felt somehow forced to declare a surprise war against Persia/Archduke... because I'm quite sure that he was on the verge to do the same to me - and at least this way I avoided his units to became superblitzkrieg-able due to his unique Civ-ability.  scared

Nevertheless, the units mobilized for war in West are ( still ) few... is more a desperate attempt to orchestrate a pre-emptive action than anything else.

I liked your building plan, it may have worked for an age, as there was plenty of land to settle.  I'm a single player builder-type, so my liking isn't due to strategic insights on my part.

I spent about two weeks focused on this thread, and by declaring friendship with Russia, I expected war between you and Persia eventually.  If there was to be war, a surprise attack made sense to me, as Persia's ability is dreadful.  It felt fair that it was a real attack, however small, as Persia wasn't allowed to do a tactical dow, though the outcomes didn't justify the fairness of it.

You did mention that you wanted to do diplomacy, to contain Nubia earlier, but couldn't due to in-game limitations.   Any ideas on how to make that better?

Same here - I'm also more a single-player builder-type. smile
However, I should admit that my first experience with Multiplayer in Civ 6 was a totally, totally disaster. frown

At the moment when I finally declared war against Persia I was, more or less, in a "mental concede" status because I realized that the game has a runaway leader.
So yeah, I attacked before I could get all 3-4 legions which I had on the map near Persian-city.

TBH - not really.
It was somehow even worse than it was visible: virtually both Russia and Persia tried to not annoy Nubia so they started to settle close to my borders, which pressure me even more so I was forced to be somehow willing to attack them and so on. And in the way Nubia consumed them all anyway.  rolf

Totally stupid game!!!  dito
