[spoiler]Pindicator's pb80 thread

Hey Pindicator! I hope that you are enjoying your trip on the far side of the world. smile. Here is an update from the home front (a server in Germany).

Turn 219 to Turn 224 – 1795 AD to 1808 AD

We are still alive and at peace, for now, but our culture is a warzone.
Krill has units in and around Pisa, while Commodore controls everything else with his main force in Great Dane. Commodore does have a few units out of frame to the north on the Arctic islands.
“Don’t rock the boat.” scared.
It is so strange to see foreign planes circling above our cities.

Most cities are still building the Observatory and University duo that you started before your trip, but there are a few exceptions.
Pug and Malemute are training Machine Guns for everywhere.
Laika finished Ironworks and started on Mining Incorporated Executives. We have a Cereal Mills Executive from discovering Biology, and I am sending it to Laika too.
Pinscher is still building National Epic and National Park. About 15 turns out, though maybe chops or Mining Inc. could make it sooner.

The main Railroads for production and connection are mostly done. Next: Forest Preserves around Pinscher and secondary Railroads.

Also, there is room for two filler cities, one a bit NE of Sarmatian and one a bit NE of Newfoundland. I think that these filler cities will be instantly profitable from trade routes, and I don’t see any reason not to found them. There is already one Settler in Malemute, but I will need to train a second Settler somewhere.

We discovered Biology and I am saving money. What next? I guess research towards Industrialism for Infantry and Factories? Combustion for a sliver of naval relevance with Destroyers is also appealing. There aren’t any more commerce multiplier buildings in reach to add to the Observatory and University duo, are there?
Those can be rhetorical questions, by the way. Feel free to not worry about this while on your trip if you don’t want to.

Lastly, trade deals.
I don’t know how much the other players care about all these deals, so I won’t cancel any to avoid provoking them, but it would be nice to have those Mining Inc. resources back. And when someone founds Sid’s Sushi, those Fish might be worth more than one superfluous luxury each.
And seeing the trade: “Pigs for Hit Musicals” just cracked me up. lol.

EDIT: No more events yet.
EDIT2: Thoth built two of the spaceship components. I will check the Victory Screen next turn.

Looks great MS. I had this goal in my head of setting up a great person farm at Pinscher with National Epic, National Parks, and first preserves. Will this accomplish anything? No, but I thought it was neat. If you can accomplish that it would be cool but otherwise don't worry about it if you feel there's another way to go.

Turn 225 and Turn 226 and Turn 227 – 1810 AD and 1812 AD and 1814 AD

Founded Karakorum. It is instantly profitable, but it needs a Customs House to achieve the crazy Trade Route yields that our other cities have.
I have been quite interested in filler cities like this lately, and I am glad that this game gives me the opportunity to play around with 1 or 2 of them in the Industrial Era.

I never played in a sequential Pitboss before, so this end-of-turn order of operations is new to me.
I can select around to any unit or city, but I cannot move or change anything. I am asked to decide on new civics, technologies, and productions before logging out. And I hear Leonard Nemoy’s “You have discovered (the) [TECHNOLOGY]” after every discovery.
Perhaps I am easily amused. lol.

Victory Screen.
Commodore wins a Cultural Victory in at most 15 turns unless he is stopped. I looked back through the Event Log, and he does not have many or any Great Artists to help. Still, he will beat Thoth’s Science Victory and win before January 28th.
So, Pindicator, you are probably right that you already played your last turn this game. I thought that you were just being pessimistic about this civilization’s odds of survival when you said so earlier.
