Help reMOM to mature! (no skills required)

Hi!

If you want to help reMOM, please do the following:

Download and run the exe.

Whenever ingame, press C (capital C)

Add units, buildings, races and special abilities.

Save the config and send me the defaulrRUles.xml and defaultUIrules.xml files.

Notes:

multiline textboxes accept 1 item per line
graphics need an input in the format filename:imageNumber. You can look at lbx contents with the LBX_Graphicstest.exe. (do not press openall button).
dubleclick an item to edit. Press the appropriate "add" button to add.
You can test whatever you created by creating a city (add name, race(note spelling) population (dont go over 15000 or so or the graphics will screw up) and location in the format xposition, yposition (like: 2,3).

There are a lot of crash possibilities. Be careful smile

Ask any questions here. Post any results here. Thank you for your cooperation!

Your lack of enthusiasm does not comfort me.

I'll help you out with getting the sprites cataloged. I'm working on getting the terrain cataloged right now but once that's done.

I'm hoping the lack of response is more a timing issue instead of a lack of interest.

Not a lack of enthusiasm as much as feeling the project is in good hands with yet another programmer.

Personally cant get the game working, keep getting a huge error list with the following line being first:

System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. ---> System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException: Could not find a part of the path 'D:\Game\abandon\mom\Terrain.lbx'.

next come lots of statements starting with 'at'

Win7 64bit - reentered path to mom in path.txt file - finally i put all files with the game files in the same folder.

Thats what i have right now.

No need for terrain cataloging. Implode has done the work. Check the following thread and the resulting picture:

and http://www.roughseas.ca/momime/terrain_000.bmp

Nibiru, I know whats wrong. The terrain.lbx is hard coded in the terrainpictureprovider.cs. If you move your MoM directory to the directory in the message it should work. I know this isn't at all ideal. We'll see what we can do to get that limitation removed.

Thanks for the info JTM, it's very useful.
