Eh, could have just as easily been wrong.
At any rate, back, and glad to see everything ran smoothly. A big thank you to Xanes, WK, and Waterbat (sorry if I missed anyone) for getting the C&D and Sandboxing efforts up and running.
I'm happy with Mansa Musa as our leader. While both Peter and Bismarck would have been nice and synergistic, they ultimately pin our strategy on landing the Pyramids and running a successful Rep Specialist Economy. In a game with both Sury of India and HC, there's a good chance we have competition for them, and I'd rather we don't lose our game on t50 when someone beats us to the Pyramids by a turn. We'll have a slow start, but financial, combined with spiritual for mid-game civic switching and faux creative courtesy of terraces will make us a force to be reckoned with.
As for the other team's picks:
I think Sumer may have been a little weak with Ottomans/Egypt/Maya still on the table, but I suppose we'll see soon enough if that's the case.
LP picks HC Big frickin surprise there
The Vikings were a very interesting civ pick, however, I'm not surprised given how much Mackoti likes them. Legitimately, I feel they're an under-appreciated civ, and if water plays as big a role on this map as Commodore claims, they could be very powerful.
