I should additionally point out that I completely forgot that Cultists could disembark galleys on water AND move on the same turn (what well-designed, balanced units
) so I didn't defend as aggressively as I should have. I really really should have had water units out ASAP to scout and be able to hit cultists/galleys, or at the very least be meatshields forcing opposing cultists to waste their spells dealing with them and not my cities/land units.
Really, my rustiness really showed in this game throughout, though I suppose that's true for everyone
