[spoilers] OH vs SD - 2 for the price of one

So I offered Superdeath the choice of a couple of maps and he chose both. So we're playing both.  smoke They're pretty different though, so our differing strategies should be interesting.

First up is Ponderland - a small map where you don't get a huge income, so I thought trying to take both air towers would be a good idea. SD seems to be charging his commander straight at me for some reason. I feel like I should be able to see if he converted that village already, but is it still covered by fog of war? In any case I'm obviously doomed.

Next is Muskox Mountains - a big one where we started with loads of cash, so my standard opening of dribbling out a few spears to meat-shield for the things I can afford later is pretty dumb. SD has thought about this a bit more thoroughly and used a wagon to capture and then protect *my* barracks. I'm hoping that an air tower and a giant will let me do something about that, but I'm expecting him to spawn a giant next turn. Doomed.

Down south I've pushed a dog forward as a sentry, and I've been trying to have units in the trees to get ambushes, but he'll have air units down here soon, so a ballista might be in order.

Things aren't going so well on this map, I haven't produced an aerial unit because at the point I saved up enough cash to do that a mage turned up. I assume it's only a matter of time until he rolls over me, but Ragna's shield jump is charged up now so perhaps she can do some damage?

Things are more promising in this game - down south my Treb managed to surprise Nuru and another hit could be enough to kill, so SD will have to retreat. The Dragon can kill any unit it chooses, but if it goes for the expensive Trebuchet then the Balista and Mage can take it out. If it goes for the Mage the Balista will take it down to 20%...

In the north SD's aggressive play hasn't worked out - I finally killed the Giant he produced from my barracks this turn (should have taken the screenie before that) and killed a Treb last turn. He's killed a couple of spears and knocked my giant down to 20% so in terms of cash I'm probably about a Treb ahead. I should assume some anti-air units will appear up here, so perhaps the dragons should zoom down south?

Caesar's groove is charged so he could enable the dragons to make that trip in double-quick time, or he could help them get to hit SD's barracks... I'm not sure which is more likely to pay off.

I used Caesar's groove to jump two dragons next to SD's northern barracks, killing two ballistas, with the intention to kill the barracks next turn. SD redlined one of the dragons with a mage, but decided his position was hopeless and resigned. Perhaps he thought I'd go straight for the HQ, which might be the better move, but even if I killed the barracks first it'd probably only be a matter of time before I won.

No screenshot because you don't get a chance for a look when the opposition resigns. frown

Ponderland turn 10

This one seems a bit more positive than last time. I used Ragna's shield jump to kill a wagon and a mage, with the side effect of hurting Valder pretty badly. I sacrificed a spear this turn to let Ragna hit Valder (he's down to 5%) and block his escape.

I expect SD will kill my spear to let Valder get away. Hopefully my dog, mage and knight will be able to kill him. If he has an aerial unit in range he might be able to block me or even kill Ragna, but I'm fairly sure he hasn't had the money to buy one of those.
