Thanks, its probably the only noteworthy performancy I've pulled off this game, and its purely thanks to due to the 'screw it, I'm, screwed either way' mentality and the civ4 gods blessing me with good combat RNG. Nice to be sure but no way indicative of my actual performance, which I expect is pretty sub-par. /shrug. I really should go read some decent PB writeups, I feel completely out of my depth! which is probably partially true and also a lack of confidence -> I'll be definitely intruiged to read the threads of this game, even moreso than PB61. The culture shock is real.

In terms of the acual game, Liberalism was discovered by Ginger, which really indicates just how behind I really am... which is totally not suprising, but its definitely a stark reminder. I really should try and get some territory off of Cornflakes too - there are other, bigger, more important targets than me *cough cough* Ginger *cough cough* that I should really go for it, at least with the units I have alive right now.

Edit: Also kinda regretted not jumping on PB65 when I had the chance so I could focus on trying to improve rather than salvaging a position lost many turns ago, but ah well, there's always next PB.

more of a ramble than a concrete update

definitely stuck between a rock and a hard place, completely out of the running game-wise realistically, so not even sure what to optimise for decision-wise - I _need_ more territory and I _need_ to put my army to good use, so I've declared war on Cornflakes (and completely forgot the rules and tried to demand a city off of him without war, whoops, trying to be too cute with the diplo there) - probably won't bother with the islands, but take what little is remaining on the continent. It would also be nice to open a front that isn't SD or BING.

After that though, I was initially not sure, Ginger is quite evidently the top power, and while I had not seen a whole lot changing hands cities-wise for a while (this turn Ginger did raze a superdeath city), the fact that he's running around with cavs and cuirs is... worrying. I'm quite a few turns away from getting Riflies (just about to get Paper, still need Replacable Parts and Rifling), and even further away from Cuirs or Cavs (don't even have Music). I've not seen anyone else running around with any gunpowder units either, surely Mjmd has to be at least close? I believe I remember seeing 2 other civs having Gunpowder at least when I picked it up, and I can check who has Rep Parts next turn to make a guess. Whether Mjmd wants to throw himself into a all-out war with #1 right now, after signing peace relatively recently (?) with Cairo/Magic Science, is also another question. 16 odd cities is still a formidable empire, and again the rifle/cuir/cav status is unknown, I would be holding off until I got that researched and a stack to go along with it.

I can't really go after either SD or BING though, SD would be a relatively easier conquest, but would kingmake Ginger pretty blatantly, and I at least want to... pretend? try? to win? or at least get a better position than what I currently have, and attacking BING would both be far more difficult and a sideshow to the game as a whole. Delaying or dragging out the game is really the only option.

I'm sure I'm just stating the absolute obvious, but /shrug - I never even made it to this stage of the game in PB61 so I've gotta enjoy the time I've got left in this game, and while its not been too successful a game, its another game worth of attempted pitboss adaptation.

It looked like you expanded well and with SD being broke from killing Pin early I kind of expected you to be a regional power. You expanded well, but then it didn't seem like you developed? or what do you think happened?

Anyways, congrats on living and seems like you put up a heck of a defense.

After Pindicator folded I was worried SD would roll over you by virtue of double land, but the complete opposite happened and you crushed that second invasion  hammer
You defeated both Bing and SD, it was very impressive. I hope you stick around and play in more games, glad to see you signed up for 66 too.
