Imperium Eight - The Ancient Race is now open. I know that we're trying not to open Epics and Imperia on the same day, but we've gone far too long without either game running (my fault, sorry), that I thought we should open both. If that's a problem for anybody, post here, and we'll see what we can do.

The penalty is assessed when you colonize a 6th planet. So, if you want to abandon a planet in order to avoid incurring a penalty, the AI must take a planet from you before you colonize what would otherwise be your 6th planet. Thus abandoning a planet is a somewhat chancy strategy since it can be difficult to predict when and where the AI will choose to attack.
Okay, I'm done. That was fun!
I had 4 planets, then settled Orion, then glassed everyone but one, whose last planets I couldn't reach. So, I grabbed one more planet to bring the last race into range. I lose 25 points for having had 6 planets, but do I still get 50 points for settling Orion when I only had 4 planets? And, where do I send my results? I don't think it would be a good idea to post them here yet
