What is formula of dispel?

Does anyone know how dispel is calculated?

(casting cost of dispell) / (casting cost of dispell + casting cost of target) = chance to dispell (%)

MoM manual pg 105

Thanks.
I wonder why this game community doesn't have decent wiki...

In PLIGHT help,"Statiscally, repeated casting without additional mana have a higher chance of success than spending the same amount of mana in one attempt"

Now I'm understand this sentence.

50/(50+50)=50%

5/(5+50)=9.1%

9%*10=91%

10/(10+50)=16.6%

16.6%*5=83%

20/(20+50)=28.6%

28.6%*2.5=71.5%

25/(25+50)=33.3%

33.3%*2=66.6%

If player can afford turns to cast multiple dispels then he should do it.

Your numbers are not quiet correct. You cant add chances like that.
Consider this, if there is a coinflip, 50% chance that its tail. So coinflip twice, the chances of at least 1 tail is a mere 75%, not 100%.

When "If player can afford turns to cast multiple dispels" correct chance calculation is meaningless.
Only succeeded result is worth.
At this post,"%" is succeeded result, not same as chance.

The formulae for disenchant area is bugged i think. Ive seen a combat disenchant area dispel 800+ mp of buffs before...the chances of it suceeding are insanely high.

Oh I see. Can you tell me thenm, what is the "succeeded result", if
The spell has cost 50 mana
I spend 25 mana on dispell
I try 4 times?
