Right now it looks like the early attack plan worked out better for Thoth than for Commodore. Maybe if things had broken a bit more favorably for Commodore when he did strike at Pindicator, this would be the exception game to the general rule of 3rd parties being the beneficiary of early aggression; it seems to have been a fairly close thing.
You’ve pinned Commodore’s ears back; what are your thoughts concerning the border with Thoth? So far apart from the initial raze you seem to have maintained a tense but non-kinetic cease fire.

I think in this case coming back for a second helping in Commodore's case was what hurt him the most. He didn't have to whip out Knights and send them at me. I still don't even really understand what purpose they served, as he was never going to capture anything of note while walking through culture bombed territory with just 3 Knights in the initial group. If he had continued his peace with me and gone after Pindicator instead, I was fully prepared to go after Thoth and try to help Yuris. You can see in this thread it wasn't that long ago I was more mad at Thoth.

Well, I'm going to settle at least one more city in his direction if things remain calm. Basically my strategy there for a bit is to settle land between us in a way that dulls the Viking advantage. This city is on the outer coast which he cannot really reach right now, as I think he only just recently settled his first outer ocean city. The next city will be landlocked and therefore not easily boatable. Meanwhile, I plan to get a few Caravels out, as I did just get Optics in. In the short-term those are sentries, but if Commodore gives me breathing room, maybe they help out Yuris.
I can't really mess with Thoth too much in the next 10T because of the Commodore factor. It's impossible for me to have my Elephants on both fronts. If I get another 10T peace after that, we'll see. Right now I'm just trying to strike a blend of getting myself more build queues and limiting the upside of Thoth going for a 2v1. Easier said than done.

Do Barbarians get Random Events too?
Because if not, I can't figure out what's going on here. I only just now noticed this. The only other explanation I can think of is the one half-turn when I owned this city, I happened to get the event on exactly that turn roll, but I never noticed it, and then the city raze kept me from noticing. That seems far-fetched, though.

I mean it doesn't say "floodplains" or some other type. I've seen that happen in map editing, but yes would guess its an event. Not sure if barbs get or not. Not sure if there is an event that would give?

I looked through my screenshots, and I can rule out mapmaker as the root cause.
T30 after the culture bomb but before the flip, the tile 1N of the city is normal.
T55 after the raze, the tile has +1F. So this surely was an event of some sort that I did not see. Unfortunately, I can't narrow it down further as all screenshots of this area between T30 and T55 have yields off.

There's definitely an event that gives +1 food to a random coastal plot. Sea turtles or something. Never seen a barb city get an event like that before, though. Maybe related to the CtH code forcing events / quests to be for all players?

It's the sea cows from before, they're just keeping a low profile this time so they don't get deleted.

Events like Sea Turtles (i.e. those that give +yield to a random tile) are only given to the player who controls that tile - and I have definitely seen some of them happen on tiles outside of any city's BFC. So given the post-artist-bomb screenshot where the yield is normal, it looks to me like you must have gotten the event yourself and either missed it or forgotten about it in the flood of other, more-compelling events? Or of course I could just be confused.
And unrelated to the sea turtlescows, I love the way you've turned this game around after being double-teamed by hyper-aggressive neighbors! I realize you're still not exactly a front-runner, but sending Commodore's super-knight invasion home in glue barrels and then getting up to nine cities before anybody else is just really impressive after those huge early losses!

I mentioned the general uncertainty over Commodore's next moves. He signed OB and swapped maps with me which allows me to watch for unit buildups, which was a good sign. Yesterday Thoth finally captured Yuris's capital, which puts me and the game in general on even higher alert, so I decided it was time to more explicitly see if Commodore wants to call off the grudge war, or at least delay it a good long while.
He echoed it back - more or less agreeing to 30T of peace. It's important because during that time he's going to have Galleons next to me, and I'm going to have...
Zerk time. This is the first one I've seen - I think he just finished the techs needed. Also, awhile back I got a quest to build 7 Forges. Due to the war, I only ever completed one, but when peace was signed I had 2 more half-built. I decided this was an opportunity to complete the set and finished them this turn.
The other options were Copper on that tile and all Swords get Shock. Free Engineer specialist was more valuable here, especially because it produces GPP. I'm going to get an Engineer fairly soon here. This will likely be used to bulb Engineering/Guilds, but there's a tiny part of me that wants to do MoM instead. I honestly just don't think I can afford to go that route - I think I need the short-term beakers more. But I am thinking about it.
SPEAKING OF EVENTS. Peep this one halfway down the event log that Commodore got.
I looked this event up - you get a free prophet, merchant, or military instructor. I got an Engineer, but I had to put in work to get it - he just gets a free specialist for existing. Very cool setting.

I'm pretty sure this is correct. I have a vague memory of seeing Sea Turtles in the event log, though it's weird that I can no longer find it in there!

However, I like this theory the best, so I am declaring it canon.

Thanks! It's definitely an odd game - the Medieval start and general lack of cottaging combined with the high levels of conflict going on makes this game a bit less snowbally than normal. My own chances are very weak, but I definitely can have some say in the proceedings.
