I think there are factors that make the Spulla thread more prone to spoilers. I was going to post about it in the general forums but I may as well put it here.
As far as I can tell this is how it went down;
1)A lurker expresses the opinion that Sulla would have an opinion on the lurker's posts in the lurker's thread, when he was going to read them, after the game had ended.
2)Sulla later responded and said, I am aware of the opinion that some people hold in the lurker's thread and I don't feel that is accurate. Or at least it was not my intention.
The opinions have no actual bearing on the game, it is mostly due to the style and the word choices that Sulla and Speaker have made describing the game.
Sulla's response makes clear that somebody outside of his spoiler thread told him that an opinion was held about the style of the thread.
This would seem to be the primary issue, as it indicates somebody sent him a message outside of the bounds of the thread.
However the information was primarly that a number of lurker held an opinion about Sulla and Speaker and NOT about the opinions of other players or their perceptions of him, which would be spoilerish and diplomatically relevant.
I can understand the argument that the opinions of lurkers are influenced by reading all the threads and hence may give information away that shouldn't be. Especially given Sulla and Speakers ability to analyse all the various pieces of information they receive. But I really feel in this case we haven't had anything severe enough to believe that.
Now the Spulla thread is different to the others, as we had last week, when Speaker asked a question of civ management and presented the two options Sulla and Speaker wanted, but didn't identify who suggested which. This gave an opportunity for the lurkers to argue about the various merits either way. This could be seen as going beyond talking about why they made a particular decision, but everybody agreed with one or the other option and didn't suggest anything different, which would have been possibly beneficial to them.
Hell most of the thread is Speaker of Sulla describing some small trick or some awesome overall plan and everyone goes, yeah that's great. I can not think of any decision which a lurker has questioned them, that they haven't been able to justify why their decision was better.
The other element has been that people have expressed a negative opinions about Sulla and Speaker's actions in their thread, which may in some very roundabout way suggest lurker knowledge of some result of that opinion. That is a long bow to draw though.
It terms of proper lurker speculation;
I find it absolutely hilarious that Spulla's diplomatic efforts have yielded such paranoia in the other teams. Jowy feels that HRE is going to get ganged. Whoisit correctly suspects an attack on Kathlete is brewing. Slaze barely even thinks he will be attacked even though pretty much everyone else sees it coming.
Whoisit constantly stressing the Korea will attack him I love, when Korea is constantly fearing that Whoisit will attack them!
It will be a joy to watch this coming week as global war once again breaks out in Pitboss 2.
