EDIT: OMG I'm an idiot. I DIDN'T FINISH THE FARM!!!! I looked at the screenshot and went WAIT A SECOND. Is this level of stupidity reloadable?


I'm not going to fully pretend I understand why I have a forested hill copper vs Vanrobers 3rd ring grassland. It does mean I don't have to worry about placing for copper. I am incentivized to only step on that hill once though. It was likely I was going wheel after AH anyways, will have to see what all the timing looks like.

Southern sites obviously should have question marks. I have to decide on micro next turn (settler or worker). Still favoring 2nd worker opening and settling 1S of dry corn.

Whats even worse is I literally just mentioned that it didn't matter if rice was 1st or 2nd ring because it was going to finish this turn....... AND THEN I DIDN"T FINISH IT!!!!!!!

Ok nevermind. Just ran through Sim. I'll withdraw reload request. Doesn't change timing, you know because 4f isn't that much more than 3f...... Yeah dry rice I guess?

Edit: I will go farm it after chop. So essentially I'm losing 4f total, which luckily doesn't change settling timing. I'll consider lost overflow hammers penance for not taking my time.

Each start has their ups and downs. I do enjoy the map commentary, and i hope to hear more of it so i can improve. Also, next time..... get an Even number of players. It REALLY helps my sanity.

glad to hear it doesn't hurt us too much.

wait so we have capital copper while vanrober doesn't? (but we don't have wheel too soon do we?). Well if he doesn't claim it with his second city should we maybe just put a spear on it? Edit: also he doesn't seem to be in a hurry to get our graphs?

Also make sure to scout 2E of the pig next turn with the first scout move.

I'll consider it a wake up call to get my butt in gear and actually do micro. This is the latest I haven't had a turn by turn plan in any game I've played or ded lurked. Ya copper thing is weird, but whatever, I was really afraid it wasn't going to be in one of the 2 spots that could share food. I plan on doing 1S of dry corn first. I don't have military, it can share food, and it can get workers back to improve cow / copper. The next two sites are the wet corn cow and then the corn pig.

Man this looks like Iowa except ya know the ocean part. Scout is going back up to make sure I'm not being warrior rushed.

So the nice thing about aggressive Rome is that your timing comes pre cats. But it isn't like people don't know what is up. They very much have incentive to rush (stupid SD settling on copper in PB51 saving himself). Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but since I already have 3 very solid city sites located that are all towards opponents, I'm going to play it safe and do some patrol work.

lol just realized my 1S dot should just be where its at. Anyways, doesn't matter as still will scout that eventually.

Just a quick update so Mig doesn't think I've forgotten him.

All quite on the eastern front

Plan is going as plan; although I think my tech cost is off in my sim. I am very excited about this opening going long. If you count the shared food, my first 3 cities will all have multiple food resources. I am very much looking forward to crashing my economy into the ground.

Big news is that Vanrober settled a city T25!!! Based on what we know I'm assuming work boat and then settler first. Assuming warrior is guarding said city. I'm assuming building a worker in both cities now. Meanwhile I'll have 2 workers out and city settled T30 with both an improved seafood and improved dry rice. Will  be interesting to see how it plays. I do think a lot of people are on 3 pop building settler based on average food, but I haven't been keeping track.

In any case Vanrober's city wasn't towards me (scout ended up on two hills near him). Scout is now headed down to make sure Cairo isn't warrior rushing me / to scout south. Will keep in mind and might try to make sure I have a warrior upgrading to spear in queue to cover 3rd city.
