(Spoilers) Superdeath's Mystery Gambit

Just noticed that Nauf logged in before Gavagai... Did they make peace? DID I FORGET TO CHECK THAT?

HAS EVERYONE DECIDED TO BAIL ON ME?

Ah, life. Gavagai and i can exchange blows with each other to relive the good old times. "ill raze any city east of your copper cities meridian" Yeah. Good times.

Lost sight of Gav's axe stack. He is either moving it wonky, or more likely is sending it on a hail-mary fuck-me thru the jungle to hit one of my cities. Dont know how well thats going to go, as he NEEDS those axes for his HA's to have any decent matchup vs my stack. Sure he can force more defensive whips/ect, and probably raze a city, but his axe/ect stack will eventually be cut down by my reinforcing WE's/Cats. Also 5xp numids cut all but his crossbows very well.. So, WHO KNOWS. But at least now there is a little bit of fun in this PB.

I THINK if he rushes it and doesnt keep building a cat stack, i win the stack war. If he waits too long, i get culture control-ish and eventually more defensive bonus's... My production shits all over his even pre-war. So i think i can win the eventual war 1v1? I can almost guarantee providing they dont attack each other, that Amica/Nauf will attack when the treaties are up. Not "ideal" but not a bad situation as it will take some more whip potential away. Keep whipping Gav. I out-scale you that way.

After having captured those 4 workers... (and deleted them) ive noticed that other than 2 workers down by his capital on a non-roaded hill... he has NO workers available to re-road.

SO, Guess who will be cutting the road to give myself more time if needed, for Culture/walls to be whipped :D

Forgot to take pics, but pillaged one road so far, got the other's farm pillaged, and covering with a WE and plan to pillage the road and move back into the city next turn. This SHOULD buy me enough turns to whip walls. W/walls i dont think he cracks the city. I produce far-too much.

Gavagai rolled well on his combat luck and managed to take only 1 loss vs an expect 2.2 or so on average taking my numids/ect out that were pillaging.. He will either move in this next turn and road and GO, or he loses the stack war. He is producing 2ish units a turn. Im producing 4 on average. 2 cities of mine produce a WE roughly every other turn. I also tech faster than him now. Machinery finishes eot next turn, and if the stack(s) are non existant i can wealth build and get Engineering very shortly there after. I do not regret giving Commodore a cash infusion so long as he can hold Ginger off from taking anymore cities.

Im sure everyone is saving money (didnt check... was too focused on my little war) but i like my current standing! tongue Crop yield will always be trash when you have the least amount of food of anyone on the map.

I can probably re-take the city with the shitload of catapults and we's im making if i do lose the fight, and honestly... even if i do lose the stack v stack war, ill be happy to have done something this game.

His HA's have moved out of vision. Based on where the stack was the previous turn, there were only two possibilities on where he stashed them. (without engineering) I sent my sentry-numid south-west to check to see if he snuck them there before moving them towards Ginger or something for a very long-winded sneak attack... But now i know where they are located, unless he decided to magically delete them all? In which case... Id be able to engage his stack fairly well despite us having currently equal amounts of collateral.. ANYWAY..

South the of mountain with the sign pointing towards the only tile they could have fled to. Is he just trying to hide them? He has to know by now that i have full vision on him, and i know he cant afford to whip courthouses or spend EP on me, so im fairly certain that he is trying to either bait me into moving forward, OR is going to attempt to blitz past me with those HA's. So, im keeping a small stack of WE's/cats behind until i see those HA's. Im certain that i can get to guilds AND engineering before Gavagai and at that point its over.

He isnt sending ALL of his axes this way, but a decent chunk. I dont think this is going to work out for him. He (imo) needs these axes to wear down my elephants/ect after collateral hits me. Sure he delays some reinforcements, but i get to slam a couple catapults against this stack and get more xp for my WE's and more GG points... So win/win?

I think he HAS to bombard the defenses down. He is staring down at 75% defenses atm. Although i only have axes/spears that are benefitting from that... they should still defend very well. HENCE, why i am going to be whipping some crossbows for better defense. I suspect ill only get 1 whipped before he charges in, as im assuming he will realize his chances are getting smaller and smaller as time goes on. Also, Amica (DESPITE HIM GIFTING GAVAGAI IVORY for 4gpt...) is moving towards Gavagai's cities, so i can only assume Amica will be sniping some undefended cities reducing the amount of whip-population that Gavagai will have access to. If Gavagai loses those cities east of Chernenko? (that lake area) then i think im pretty safe to start moving forward and bleed some units. I HAVE to capture his capital and the surrounding cities if im going to get back into the game at all. I also THEN need a nice 20-30t of peace to wealth build my way back into tech parity... Yeah, its a long list. But if i get to add Gavagai (again) to my kill list, it will have been worth it.

If i wasnt pretty sure that i need the Numids to help absorb collateral, id have moved them north to help intercept the axe stack. Plus the spot i WANT to put them, (1N of the city) puts them in range to be smacked by Gavagai's own HA's. Im fairly sure 2t from now is Gavagai's "fuck it" turn. That will get basically everything in position, and he can road and slam catapults into my stack while i only have 1 Crossbow whipped. Wish i had engineering/stone so i could also whip a Castle, but making sure Commodore doesnt fall to Ginger is paramount to me having a sliver of a chance this game.

I guess Commodore/Ginger have been having alot more fun than Gavagai/myself. If Gavagai updated, would lurkers comment/read my thread too? ;(

Anyway, Gavagai has moved his stack of HA northward to join his mostly axe stack to step on a hill and threaten my main production city. Good times.

I moved my stack of numids out of the city to help make 100% certain that Gavagai's northern stack falls. It will quite possibly cost me the mid's city, but im HOPING that having nearly double the amount of catapults has Gavagai, that my Cats soak up alot of collateral. Otherwise, im fucked. :D

I'm certainly reading and enjoying your reports, though I'm rarely able to log in or respond!  The border and tactical situation sound really complex; I feel like I need a new overview of unit locations just since last turn!  (For instance: Did his Horchers just join that X-bow+Sword+Axes stack on the jungled hill, or did they all advance somewhere?  Is the "main production city" that he's threatening USA^3 or Hadru or something I'm missing?  And how far out of Gorbachev did your Numids move?)
