I roaded or tried to road that hill my units died on, cuz i thought u would put some anti-melee or other units there to help cover. Then i got slapped there and decided that you werent going to help, and moved my units together.

I tried attacking thru India. Got slapped by RNG and him having units in the right places.

It was a nice try but the Indian attack vector was too obvious. It was the only place in my entire empire where I didn't have two tiles of CRE/Madrassa culture buffer. I had that adequately covered from a mounted stack, and had a sentry HA constantly scanning for a mixed 1-mover stack with more catapults in zone defense to assist if needed.

The city of Gross Profit which I stole from you was a case of opportunism with my settler intended for the crabs site further west, and then diverted east when I saw that left un-claimed for so long. If your axe defender had been a spear you would have been fine and would not have contested. Knowing that you were going to be calling eventually with Cataphracts I stole the site as more of a "lightning rod" fortress to buy time to scramble defenses in the core, as well as throwing a wrench in what I could already see was a strongly developing economy headed for Guilds. I will apologize for the name which although legitimately on my naming scheme list (and meant in the accounting/business sense for evaluating and comparing different alternatives), was yet in poor taste.

I meant the wheat at his city of citadel where I could join my stacks on the same turn and wouldn't have a lot of turns moving through his territory. So ya sounds like we had some confusion there, as I was super confused why you moved units to that hill.

alright twas a good game. that city was the lightning rod, but also could have pushed me elsewhere had you not taken it. I saw the land between us as barren

So I somewhat get this. I've been there. Hell the last turn of the game I went Leeroy Jenkins because why not at that point.

My question is when Cornflakes took that city why build chariots at all? You had cultural control and could have gotten to cats to pretty much guarantee take it back that way.

BTW I made 1 meme for this game, its on T108 of my thread related to this if you want to see it.

In the two early wars where I sniped cities from SAC I was confused by your signaling. Before the first snipe you were sending me "War vs. Sucksatciv" messages nearly every turn, yet your power graph was flat. I built and staged axes in anticipation of you actually going to war (may not have done that without your prodding!). I waited a couple extra turns but ultimately decided to just pull the trigger and snipe the city. Then I tried signaling to you that there was another opportunity to double-team him when the 10T peace expired, and you again signaled back the "War vs. Sucksatciv" multiple times but never built the army!

(August 16th, 2022, 07:45)Cornflakes Wrote: Sucksatciv has gone a step to far. Power graph shows that he has a single axeman defending 5 cities. His Banana city has no road connection for copper, and according to my calculations should have grown this turn (ripe for the picking devil). He has had a naked settler sitting next to the silver for the last 3 turns with a warrior slowly walking forwards to "garrison". His eastern *flash point* city with Superdeath only just got road connection to be able to whip metal units. Superdeath has been sending me war with Sucksatciv for a half dozen turns now. I've been bouncing the trade back to him but he's still sitting at lowest world power (with no metal units at all???).

If one of us had currency i would have indicated that it would be a few turns for me to join. (we had been sending war for war vs SaC almost every turn. I was never ready for war, but i kept replying as it IS an eventual outcome with such a land grab for a 2nd? city of SaC, and because Cornflakes like Pindi, are my two biggest threats being my neighbors.. Sooooo anything that slows them down is good for me.

I get not being prepared for the first war since you were still settling land and I had to pull the trigger on the opportunity, but the second war follow-up 10T later ... I don't see any details of that T78 timeframe in your thread, but I was expecting the 10-turn enforce peace combined with the multiple mirrored-back war messages would have prompted you to build military. If you had actually built a few more axes I would have stayed at war until you captured the gold city in order to leave SAC as a crippled rump state for eventual conquering. With with your power solidly last in the world I just took the quick city snipe and let SAC evacuate those archers with the peace treaty giving him time to set up a solid defensive line for the future.

That will bump me up to 8 cities equal with MJMD, and allow Sucksatciv to settled that naked settler to get back up to 8, while giving SAC 10 turns to shore up his defenses. Now that I've secured Pyramids I can take a more turtle approach in the near term. I've been signaling war with SAC to Superdeath and he's been responding diplomatically but his power graph is solidly last in the world so I have no confidence in him actually joining and feel no obligation to remain at war longer.

At this point in time, i cannot recall. i THINK i had a small stack ready to at least grab a city off of him, but i also didnt expect him to basically collapse to anything thrown at him.
