Good luck to whichever of you ends up playing next! No rush necessary, as we are in a very strong position and would have to try hard to lose. (That is not a challange, by the way. ) I am curious to see how Team A's game has gone, but that will be there when we finish.
I'm going to leave it to Coeurva unless he requests otherwise. I'll note though with respect to repulsor beams:
1) We've barely invested in the research project, so whoever plays this set won't have a chance to play with them.
2) They're defensive equipment, and essentially useless against missiles and heavy beams. Plus their animation slows tactical combat more than all other weapons and special systems combined....
3) As Alkari, we don't really need defensive stuff like that: We just fly circles around our foes and challenge them to try to hit any of our swarming fighters!
That doesn't mean you can't go for them (or if you want, as mentioned, I can play the next set and give it to you with Repulsors ready or nearly so) - in this galaxy, at this point, we're winning anyway almost regardless of what we do. But if you really want to see what it's like to go Full Alkari, try to see how much you can conquer with the tech we've got! I don't think we'll conquer the galaxy in ten or even twenty turns from a flat-footedtaloned start .... but on the other hand, we've got an enormous lead, and this is only Hard difficulty....

Thanks for the concern. (It isn't, but it probably should be, at least to the impartial observer, apart from a lack of time that's certainly not extraordinary. Which merely serves to make me feel worse about it. There's nothing more I can say of this.)
I've played most of my set and written a bunch of the report - still on schedule for posting it sometime in the next ten hours, hopefully. Fair warning: I've been playing under the assumption that RFS-81 and Coeurva both are out for the duration, and therefore with players thin on the ground, I may have ... um ... accelerated our timetable slightly. So, if one of you does want to play one last set of this one, let me know; in the meantime, I'll assume I'm handing it off to Haphazard again.

Oog. I actually know that feeling really well. In case it helps, I think it's not just that the lack of time is not extraordinary; I think feeling like everything's far from okay when "it probably should be ... apart from a lack of time" is also common - a very real problem without a simple "fix." In my experience (for what it's worth) cutting back on things that take up time unproductively sort of works, but only if you do it a certain way: Figure out something you really, really want to do, but lack time for, that you find rewarding both in the moment and in hindsight - could be a specific thing (one of them for me is writing fiction, but that's specific to me; there are lots of possibilities) or a class of things (e.g. Anything With Real-Life Friends - but that's just another example, and that one often depends on the friends) and there may be one or several or many - and make time to do that thing instead of time-consuming, not-really-that-rewarding stuff. This is mostly harder than it probably sounds, and might be useless advice as well as unsolicited, but ... I guess the main thing is, I hope things get better.
Oh, right, pictures. No way I'll get them all into the place before I need to get to bed tonight. So I'll post my report tomorrow, I guess. In the meantime...
Notes for the next First Talon:
- The huge ship in the build queue at Thrax is just an outdated placeholder.
- I tried to clean things up a bit by the end of the turnset, but there are still one or two fleets en route.
- We're at war with all four other races in the galaxy. No, that's not a typo.
- If you turn some alien worlds to glass instead of conquering them, make sure to build new colonies in their place so we don't risk dropping below the council threshold.
- Have fun with this - and bring us home so we can go see what Team A's been doing!
Sounds like this one is heading for the conclusion. Nice work, RefSteel!
Hmmm, wonder which race has exited the galaxy? Will have to open the save and find out.
As noted earlier by RefSteel, it looks like the save comes around to me as Coeurva and RFS-81 are both fully occupied by other things. If either of you does have time and wants to take the save, just post a Got It. If I do not see anything, I should be able to play sometime in the next 24 hours.
