I am thinking its possible that we take Serdoa's city, grow on the sheep, and start Walls, whip walls at 2 and then start a granary.
EDIT: YAY this is post 1000 in this thread!

if we take the city but he won't acept peace, I like that. if he accepts peace we do granary first, then walls. if he accepts peace but deletes the worker we might should load a worker on the first trip instead of second archer so we can get that rice farmed before the treaty expires (rice on southern coast, worker would be vulnerable). although we'll only need 1 turn into rice so not that big of a deal.
OH! I looked at the maps again, looks like scooter had 5 cities before the loss. white castle recently founded. their copper city is north of long john silvers, we just couldnt see it in the map, but we can see the culture, so I don't know what its called.
anyway, I mentioned this to Lewwyn: after we take beowulf back and have peace w/ azza, I want to gift Iron to Scooter the first turn of our treaty with azza (that way we can cancel deal if azza reinvades and pillages beowulf iron). mostly just as an FU to commodore. they have copper, and won't need that Iron unless they are reduced to one city . wish we could help them more.

Just FYI, the Serdoa's worker order wasn't cancelled by Serdoa, it auto cancelled when it saw our units (enemy units).

gilgamesh, theaneid, theodyssey, the iliad, beowulf (lost but not forgotten, saving it for when we recapture), Volsung (viking epic) and mathfabmathowny(welsh epic)
Ramayana & Mahabharata
Chanson de Roland
Nibelungenlied (maybe too much overlap with the Volsung)
If you every really run dry, the wiki entry on "Epic Poetry" is nice and comprehensive.

I was planning on using Song of Roland anyway (I'll use the English name, not the French, heh).
Nibel is German, not Norse, so I don't mind using that eventually. thats a new one for me
oooh on Ramayana and mahabharata.... hindu epics I've never heard of, thanks Sareln. I'll certainly use one of those before the games out, if we get enough cities. Maybe both of them .
I think I'll use song of roland for this city. Don Quixote is technically a novel, but its epic in nature and awesome so I won't mind using it eventually - but maybe when I run out of proper epics .

here's a thought: we get prophet in gilgamesh in 9 turns, so the shrine is founded in the Iliad in 10. will be, hopefully, soon after we recapture gilgamesh, and will be a great help in limping us towards currency.
we're building library next in volsung, which is convenient. its the only city really that afford to run scientist specialist. perhaps we should start running 2 specialists as soon as we're able (which would cap it at size 4 and mean less whips, but thats ok) so our next great person will be a scientist from volsung, that can build an academy in gilgamesh.
we don't have to run the scientists every turn necessarily, just make sure it appears before the 2nd prophet in gilgamesh (which should be much later, and probably be used on a golden age).

well well
This is the worst thing about pitbossess, not being able to look around before accepting the diplo deal. Could mean he's being sneaky, didn't delete his worker so it will transport back to his island city. he also settled a city on his turn, could be close by and also undefended. but I have to accept - it will give us 10 turns to reinforce it, and allow us to build a granary before walls.

Chatted with Bigger on Gchat, I think he's just trying to save the worker. That's fine. We'll accept it, we want to hit Azza.

song of roland:
for some fucking reason the peace treaty bumped our units out of the city so I had to move them back in. would suck if barbs appeared this turn
demos at 0%:
i took a picture of top 5 but it didn't take. city #4, commodore, and #5, xenu, are both size 9 .
I have to question my judgement. I'm letting Lewwyn play most of the turn with a buzz atm, lol.

are there any new zealand epics? I Japannesse epic would work, or I will probably just go with Don Quixote if I don't hear a better suggestion (hills=windmills, I guess, although we're still quite far from that tech)
How about Popol Vuh? Mayan theme and all that jazz.
