[PB25-SPOILERS] The Lunacy of the Reign of HAK Continues

Hey HAK, any chance we could get a screenshot inside each of your cities. No worries if it's too much work.

Yeah sure. I can do that. Next turn at this point, since I see Gavagai has just logged in to play his turn.
Unfortunately, the cities are in a sad state due to all this crazy drafting and some of the whipping I did while in Slavery....so I'm sure you'll get a laugh at my expense when you see them. tongue

Okee then....here goes.... smile
First the normal demos and graphs:

And then all the cities. This is before I do any Drafting this turn (if I do) and may switch up some of the build queues, possibly.

So no idea what to do on the Gavagai front at the moment. He obviously must have sent his Sentry Numid to take a look, such that he saw me put the stack in the north. Or simply assumed I was going to try something when he noticed the missing HAs & Macemen....

This basically means we cannot try to do an assault on Bouncy. And I'm sure each turn he'll send out his sentry to see what he can, so not sure where to position troops this turn. He also likely has a Spy or two in the area. This really is becoming a crazy stand-off. It's fun, for sure. And that's really the only reason I'm doing it. By the time I'm ready to attack, I'm betting that's when Commodore will be ready with his stacks of Catapults & Muskets & other stuff to try to attack me. So it'll just end in a big ole bloodbath and me likely needing to announce to you lurkers my being ready to concede. But this is the fun part of the game coming up.....the various bloodbaths. I can't let myself concede until I've led my troops to their doom..... tongue

In a short bit I need to head out for about an hour or so. Will finish off stuff for the turn and try to plan what to do when I get back. Probably sometime around 11am or so.

Thanks HAK, good luck. smile

Gawww,...not sure that I wanted to see all those unfinished builds.

Can you confirm our units in Borscheland:
Maces = 18
WE=6
HA=14
LK=14
LB=9
Cats=16
Total = 77

And Gavagai's
WE=21, NC=12, CB=12, Cats=20, sword=1, Chariot=2, Pike=3.
Total =80

If that's the case, then we've equalized numbers with Gavagai. From my previous SIMs, with even numbers, I think that we can get the best of a defensive exchange if we're on a hill. Also, I think that we get the best of an offensive exchange if Gavagai is not on a hill.

The fact that he's not building up any fortify with those CBs means that we can probably move up on Five Guys. We probably need to SIM this out since the stack sizes are both shifting since my earlier SIMs. Gav's added a bunch of cats to be sure. If we had been building cats instead of a round of LBs and a round of Knights, moving on him right now would be a sure thing.

Not sure if you have time for a SIM today before finishing turn? If not, I should be able to run a SIM tonight and let you know tomorrow.

If the SIMs are favourable (or equal) on both offense and defense we have 2 attack choices.
1. Move up on Five Guys. The only way to simultaneously attack Five Guys while protecting McD is if we sit 1NE of Popeyes and eat the river crossing penalty. If Gav moves on McD we take Five Guys drop the culture and get back into McD with enough units to cost him.

If Gav leaves everything in Five Guys, well that's fine since the next turn we can move onto the hill past the river and we still have the capture city-drop culture-back into McD option.

Option #2 is to position to put everything onto that forest 2E of Bouncy. Following turn move onto the hill 1NE of Bouncy. We'll have the same defense advantage + offense advantage. The advantage here is that controlling Bouncy puts Gavagai in a much worse position defensively. The downside is that we can't do this while simultaneously protecting McD. Our better option is probably moving up on Five Guys.

Looks like Tas eliminated Elkad and took an MC city at the same time?

Final images for the turn:

Tas took and razed Amsterdam. He then took that northern city from Commodore. And then he planted a new city. Probably somewhere near where Amsterdam was.

Here's what the build queue looks like for this turn:

This military is overkill unless we're planning to invade MC. [EDIT, ok I reviewed the city shots we've only started one new military build in Sad so I retract this statement]

RollingEyes needs infrastructure - not a cat 39T from now. We also need settlers for the following locations:
1. Thebes -looks like that's started.
2. The Bedazzled replacement - Battle Island.
3. Taco Bell replacement - we've got a settler handy for that one. Whenever we think that we can protect it.
4. Iceball S of Taco Bell - need setttler. We should be able to spare 2 maces for protection for this soon enough.
5. S of Wendy's - a settler there will give instant cultural control for the square and then a larger BFC after only 2T of running artists.
6. Last plant on the SE island - a useless city that has 3 trade routes and runs 2 merchants and is eventually draftable. Rathuses make everything awesome.

I am endorsing infrastructure builds as soon as we finish what's queued up. I also continue to endorse missionaries while frowning on Monasteries.

EDIT:
1. I think that we can get Sad on infrastructure instead of a Treb that won't make the party.
2. Popeye could probably work merchants or scientist over artists?
3. Frantic is as big as it needs to be. Can we hand over the food to another city. See #6 settler request. Maybe a quick setter out of this city and then hand over the food to #6.

EDIT-EDIT.
With drafting happening at S7,...maybe that city isn't worth it. It can only work 5 tiles before taking from Frantic. Undecided.

Hey HAK,

You made some world overview pics back on T152. I'd love an update of that whenever you've got a spare minute.

Also, for discussion: Do we need Gunpowder right away? Probably. However, the sooner we can get Constitution the better. Adding +3 beakers to every specialist will add 140bpt . That's a pretty huge jump. That bump in output probably exceeds Gavagai's entire economic output for example.

Constitution can be bulbed by a GM if we first tech (or steal) Banking. Nice to see both MC and Tasunke teching it. Probably need to pick one. Our EPs should probably be directed at whoever can "help us out" with that tech sooner. It will be cheaper from Tas, but we've already got significant points in MC.

Plan for discussion:
1. Steal Theology from MC. Build AP for our use and MC denial.
2. Bulb Paper with GS. Build UoS for our use and MC denial. Build temples everywhere.
3. At that point, we've gone 2/3 the way to full monk economy. Might as well tech Divine Right for Spiral Minaret.
4. Steal Banking from Tasunke.
5. Bulb Constitution with GM that we're going to one day get.
