Some didn't like the KTBs giving away information.

I never got the sense that it was a majority of people though...... Maybe separate threads for votes on some of this stuff wouldn't be a bad idea. My main beef is just that this is changing from the base game. I do think its thematic and solves the problem of early game the calculations being less known. I would fully be up for an additional cost reduction to alphabet as it would basically be a required tech now.

I wouldnt change that KTB thing either.

I'm very positive towards the workshop buff. I have it exactly the same in my mod. Makes for an interesting midgame with 3 viable labor civics.

What you saying makes sense. There is one additional small issue though. The current implementation of KTBs leaks informationin the early game. Sometimes, you wouldn't have enough base commerce to figure out what the actual KTBs are.

Mh it seems I have to think about the KTB change some more. Maybe even how to get rid of the leaking information in the early game.

Just to play devil's advocate here, what's wrong with leaking info via ktbs?

Agree with the people urging to exercise caution on some of these changes. I'm not saying they are bad, but be wary of falling into the trap of mission creep. RtR I feel went down that route, where it had many good changes, but then it became so many changes that a mod like CtH has been able to carve out its own niche as a minimalist change mod. If you end up with too many changes then this mod becomes just a different RtR and not an alternative to it.

That said, I think the workshop change is very good.

Some of the wonders are built and to very good use. Parthenon, Notre Dame, and Temple of Artemis are all situationally very useful as they are now. Chichen Itza and Verseilles are the only two that I'm very agreeable to. Some others I could possibly be convinced on. But the three I named I don't think need any buff.

Back in base BtS you already had KTB, but you didn't have the small numbers in the tech tree indicating how many known players have that tech. That indicator was added by me in the mod. The reason I added it was, that with the KTB in place it is possible by changing techs, moving the slider up and a bit of spreadsheet wizardry to calculate this number, which I am know showing. Problem with my implementation is that it doesn't do all of the spreadsheet wizardy and it shows the correct KTB even in the early turns, where it's sometimes not possible to calculate the number exactly due to integer calculation, rounding etc.
This difference between the spreadsheet wizardry and my KTB display is the leaking information we are talking about.
Personally I would love to keep the KTB, but make it impossible to recalculate it with the spreadsheet wizardry. But this would require changing the whole formula so much that it poses to big a departure from the original, while also being a lot of work.

I'm fully aware of the dangers of mission creep. In fact that's the reason why I try to be so open about all the changes. The goal is to distill it down to the necessary changes.
