[PB25-SPOILERS] The Lunacy of the Reign of HAK Continues

OMG HAK, I don't know what to say.

I talked for 30T about getting a collateral-proof stack together. Post Five Guys defense, any stack was collateral proof since Gav,....had,...no,....collateral. We talked about how Bouncy was the key,...about that triple fork location,...about Gav only holding cities if he put all of his units in one location while we went around with 2-movers.

I'm not really sure where all that went and why you were so eager to give up the game.

Anyway, I'm going to give myself a little cool off period. I'm not really sure whether I'm still a dedicated lurker or not. I'll decide later. Seeing a 40-turn initiative go up in smoke due to impulsiveness; that's a little hard to swallow.

So, logged in to Gavagai wanting to give me Bouncy for Peace....and this is why:

He's got retep already marching in to take his island cities, which he is abandoning. He had an Axe in that one western city that is now evacuated. His Warrior still sits in the eastern city.
And then over by Dunkin Donuts, there is Tas who has units in position to move in this turn.

He moved the WEs & Pike out of Bouncy into Dunkin. So Dunkin is mine for the taking if I want to. His SOD is still in Wendys healing. I expect that if I don't take the Peace, then he'll leave them in that city while retep and Tas (and maybe even Donovan) take his core. And if I did accept the peace, then Tas would likely be able to swoop in and go south to take Wendys during those 10 turns that I can't do anything. So I'm 99% sure I'm going to lean to just taking Bouncy myself this turn via war. And see how the chips fall. Since I don't think there are any benefits at all to signing the peace with Gavagai after all this.

Over on the other front:

Comm has fully lowered the defenses (except the last 4%) so he'll likely be attacking next turn. I've been stuffing in everything that I can. So guess we'll see what happens next turn.

Tas sure has me confused a bit on what he's also doing. He seems to have a stack of Galleons and such just sitting around right on my border. I do think it highly likely that depending on what happens in Gavland, and when/if Commodore takes Hungry....he'll probably swoop in and try to take back Burning Spears and any other cities that are close to him.

Especially since I haven't been succumbing to his demands of payment to fight Gavagai. LOL

I think I just decided that I'm going to take Bouncy and offer a peace back to Gav with him giving me Wendys. If he does that, then he can send his army to defend against the other two. But he likely won't take it out of spite. He'll fight me tooth-n-nail while the others conquer him.

Your pic of the MC front is the Gavagai pic.

After you take Bouncy, why not offer Gav peace for Wendy's? Gav won't like it but he should be able to protect his northern cities with that deal. Also, Gavagai will only have 2 points of defense against us, so he's less exposed than if we just took Bouncy. That might be a sizable consideration for him.

Without the collateral you can't move forward. In addition to Wendy's you can plant south of that city as well as the island further south. So that would be a pretty big win for you.

Fixed. And we cross-posted with my thinking the same thing. I'm going to take Bouncy and offer peace for Wendy's.

Ok, final reporting details for the turn.
First the demos, graphs, & build queue after I changed a bunch of stuff.

And just to display it, here's the SE front with Commodore. So far looks like still all defensive on his part, though I have a feeling he's loaded up those Galleys with stuff which will be coming my way. I seem to recall seeing other Muskets and units inside Dragon Soldier that are no longer there. I forget what it had last time I looked, but I know it basically always had more than just 1 LB in it.

Anyway, right now it all comes down to Gavagai really. If he doesn't accept the Peace offer I sent back to him of asking for Wendy's, then that means he's going to just defend that city against me while letting the rest of his empire fall to the other guys.
Commodore can't crack Hungry next turn with all that stuff I put in it (since I now have more units in it than he has in his attacking stack....not counting his catapults), so he'll either have to sit there while pulling in more troops or retreat back to CoA to upgrade his catapults to cannons.

Hey HAK,

You need to go through a start 7 theatres. I'm not saying unfinished builds, but an otherwise immediate priority. Popeyes must have one of those theatres. Once that's done (and as soon as possible) Popeyes must start on the Globe Theatre.

Once the Globe Theatre is complete we'll draft Popeyes every turn. That will mean that the other 2 drafts will come from a base of 25 cities,...so 20 drafts over 10T means the accumulated draft unhappy should start to wane.

OMG that shark fin. cringe cry

I'm still in shock over that.
Post Defense of Five Guys:
Gav had about 80 units - 2 pike - 20 cats = 56 units
We had 80 units - 4 HA - 22 lost defenders = 56 + 12 incoming cats + 2 knight + 2 maces + drafted muskets from McD.
So maybe 74 units (maybe more) of which 25 were cats,..

That would have been enough to cause Gav to retreat everywhere we went even if we added no additional units. cry

Anyway,...I'm going through the stages of grief here. Haven't quite made it to acceptance yet.

Yeah, I thought about the Globe plan while I was looking at stuff before ending the turn. Almost started the first Theater in Popeyes this turn, but decided to have it make the Missionary first. This one will either be sent to Cairo so that a Spy can steal stuff cheaper, or it will go to Unhappy Meal so that the city can build it's new infrastructure faster.
But after the Missionary, it will be building that first Theater. Other cities can start when/if Gavagai takes this peace deal, and when they finish their current build.

And seeing the shark fin made me cry today as well. I've done some big blunders in these games, but that was obviously my biggest to date. I think I went through most of my stages of grief Sunday and then into yesterday. I might almost be to the acceptance stage. bang

With Theo(500B) costing 926 EPs and Paper (600B) costing 1112EPs,...I'm going to guess that banking will cost 1297 EPs. This is BTS-based so maybe not.

I assume that those numbers are with 5T of stationary spy?

Yes that is with the Spy stationary (and I'm pretty sure he's been there 5T now...kinda lost track). This turn I have almost all of my EPs going into Tasunke though...might even be 100%. I forget if I left a small portion going to Commodore or not.
