My bad by assuming from the chat before there was some sort of understanding. Guess he just took the map and went for a spree of screenshot trading. Would explain we he held the save for 24 hours.
I certainly have not seen any Krill scouts in that land. He probably did not even knew about the Horses, Ivory and Sugar.

Shrug, I knew I am not cut out for MP diplo.

Madness indeed. (And I still don't like ancient era screenshot trading if something like this is the result!)

Keep in mind though that Krill most likely just wants to scare you with his mention of Praets. I'm sure he knows quite well how costly an early war would be for him too, so don't let him bully you in ceding too much land to him.

Having catapults would make this easier in any case...

Yes, I am a bit behind with my C&D, ~3 turns or so, but I can track Praet production pretty accurate I think. Also they will have to walk quite a distance. And without proper catapult support, they will just die at a city with 40-60% cultural defense. So I am not actually scared, but annoyed at the sudden change of mind of Krill.

Got a view into Heu, so I can track it's builds in the future. Saw the first Praetorian there. With a pending promotion as well.
What is also interesting in this picture is the Dazed warrior 2S of my warrior and the two Krill workers just 1E of my warrior.

I innocently asked Dazed whether he has a NAP with Krill or not.
I guess he does.

In other news I scouted a source of Marble on the continent in between Serdoa and scooter. I thought that maybe stone and marble were located on the islands. Have to rethink Great Library plans now.

Without much fanfare Krill declared war on me and killed my scouting warrior. There is also a new settler of his just south of my borders.
I offered peace in game just in case he only wanted to get rid of the warrior.
But I doubt that. Otherwise he could have offered peace himself or at least sent a message with the DoW. None of that. There are probably 4 praets around now. I have geared my cities towards defense.

Message from Serdoa, complaining about border pops of a cultural civ.

Hi mh,

I've seen that Krill declared war on you. I take it he means it seriously? I mean he is still at war with me after all...

Anyway, I also noticed that your border city did pop its border to its 3rd ring. To be honest, I am not happy about getting culturally pressured already now. I mean, we discussed that border agreement for quite some time and I think you got everything you wanted so I assumed that you would not try to steal even more tiles via culture. Was that just idle talk and you did not intend to honor that deal at least for some turns? I sure hope not. Especially as we are both running out of friends fast. Krill is at war with both of us, Dazed is running away with the game and scooter... well, I know for a fact that this border is not save as he holds still a grudge against me because I did not accept to take alone the blame for the failed choke on Krill. He also told Dazed that I would pressure him in the east when I clearly am not (I have to secure my border in the south with Krill and had no time to expand to the east except for 1 city next to my cap to get Gold).

I would really like to have us work together instead of against. Because quite frankly playing like I do in PBEM16 right now is feeling like SP. I know, some players in the forum state that I am not to be trusted. But actually that is not true. I have not broken any NAP I signed even if that made my position ingame worse. I have not tried to bully others into deals but offered them possibilities which were mostly fair or even favourable for them. I don't know what is the reason for your reluctance to work with me but I am all ears if you are willing to tell me in order to find a solution.

yes I assume Krill is serious, which is probably a good sign for you.
As for cultural pressure. Shrug. I am a cultural civ. And barracks get +1cpt with the new mod, which is one thing that we are supposed to test. I have little control about my border pops.

As for the rest of the game. Dazed has pretty much won this already. The only way for the "balance" to get restored would have been for Krill to direct his Praets against Dazed. But he has been focussed on you, got behind, got angry because of Dazed supposedly better lands, and now probably just wants to do as much damage as possible with his Praets so he focussed me, although I was under teh impression I had an agreement with him. What can I say. Diplo in this game has been especially weird. Not really suited for a testgame anymore.
I am gearing myself up for defense now to tackle the Praets.

Uh, what to say? This is KRILL.
As usual I just don´t get it. And the fun is, that this madness started because of you send him your map of the disputed area.
Not that we were complaining about people exchanging maps like crazy.

Yes.
My in-game peace offering was turned down. No surprise there. No Krill units in sight, even the settler has vanished. Mobilisation is slowly getting up to speed, with axes, archers and combat engineers rushing south.
Construction is currently 8-9 turns away.
My fifth city has been settled.

My workboat has almost finished scouting the large island off my coast. It has enough resources to have 2-4 cities. Marble, Iron, Wheat, Sheep and assorted sea food.
I am short on workers. That is going to be a problem for the next turns. Especially with the need to cut down some jungle in the south for defense purposes.

Open Border offerings have been sent to Dazed and scooter.
