I think it will depend a fair amount of whether I can catch up to commodore in music or not - he's 10 turns from it (I have his research) and that probably goes down if he gets GLib.

I'm 1 turn out of lit and something like 7-10 turns for music, so...

nah, I'll probably do machinery - I mean, I'm industrious. I LIKE building wonders!!

Scooter is building a wonder, too, but slower, 20 hpt. Scooter has 198 hammers into it, commodore 198 into his. Wonder what they are building? I'm guessing GLib for commodore and MoM for scooter, but that's a pure guess.

Also, apparently commodore burned one of pindicators cities that was set up in the jungle.

So, that opportunity I mentioned:



I've never seen a formation warrior before... but there it is. The thing is, it's got a better than 5 defense! proof against chariots...

course, I have HA. so, I can conceivably kill that city, if I get an HA out AND he doens't reinforce it. Which could happen...

Commodore did build the Glib last turn, so his tech rate will go up. He gets Music in 8 - I can get music in 8. he goes before me, so he gets it in a tie.

Which means I have to increase my tech rate if I want to get music. And maybe I do, I dunno.

Have to think about this.

Commodore is now building national epic in his capitol, not realizing that I am going to beat him to music (he has 8 turns, I have 6)

I'm also going to put a scare in him with an HA in place to hit his workers. He'll pull away, though, i think.

He created a phalanx in his other city, so I probably won't be able to take that. But I can try

ok, I'm not beating him to music. He has 2 turns.

More importanly, however, I'm not beating him to music because I've changed tech (again - this, it turns out, is really hurting me)... because of this:



Theoretically, he can take VultureRoad next turn - he has 7 attackers and there will be 7 defenders. it means he leaves a 60% cultural defense, though and suicides all his catapults. I think that's what he'll do - if he doesn't, he's not taking it and may well end up losing his stack (unless he has more reinforcements, of course)

I did wound one of the phalanxes with an archer, so that may help.

If I lose this city here, it's my fault. I could have a CG3 crossbow in that city right now. I could have a couple of catapults that weakend his stack. I could have more defenders.

Instead, I chose to believe he was going after someone else and decided to try to snake music from him.

is kind of ironic... since my plan had been to go to catapults/machinery after HBR, but because I had his research, I said "I can beat him to music"

Which A) I couldn't and B) meant I didn't get IW or Cats - a couple of x-bows would make me safe and a couple of cats would mean I could probably kill his catapults.

he, of course, took the city. Lost no battles, most of which were at 90% or so (other than 3 of the 4 cats, of course)

I took it back - suicided a chariot against his spear, then killed the spear with the other chariot, moved in an HA and moved in an HA.

So, 3 defenders, one of which gets the 60% bonus. He probably takes it again.

WHipped in more HA, get IW in the interturn (I think) and bulbed machinery - so, might even be able to get some crossbows... though, scooter dumped a bunch of workers in the trees to road. If he brings a stack, it's over, cause I won't be able to get iron.

Kind of depressed. Same thing as what happened in 35 - got over confident, then killed by catapults

Well... commodore got lucky in his assault.

He won at 80%, twice at 69% and once at 87% before 3 around 97%+
His expected win total is 6 out 7.
I should have held the city. Which is important, cause then I would have 5 defenders in it next turn, not 3.

Well, luck is part of the game - he shouldn't have been able to get that lucky (see my previous rants at myself

Hopefully, he loses several units trying to take it, though, and keeps it again. If he just has 2 damaged defenders, i should be able to take it back. I have a HA and a spear. We'll see, I guess.

well, there's no hope.

I have 1 advantage right now, which is crossbows.

Commodore is 1 turn away from having crossbows of his own.

oh - he burned VultureRoad. Guess he thought it wasn't worth keeping if i could just take it back and whip more defenders.
