La Plaisanterie, C'est Moi - Ichabod's Spoiler Thread

Thanks a lot for the help, Novice.

Serdoa will probably expand like mad with his traits, so I think settling south should be a higher priority than I thought before. I liked your idea of building workers on RebelProphecy, because it'll allow WS to go full settler production. I want at least that cow/corn spot to the south (though I think I need to settle the sheep spot before it). Apparently, my east is a bit more safe.

After some workers on RP, then I build settlers to get the gold and gems.

I wonder if I should put my third city on the cow/corn spot to the west or start going south against Serdoa... I guess going against Serdoa is a higher priority, considering his traits. What do you think, Novice?

I would settle the best spots first and not worry too much about the land grab. The capitals aren't spaced out regularly anyway. Just develop your empire and don't give Serdoa a reason to attack you.

Did a whole bunch of simming and changed my plans a bit. There's quite a lot of news with the turn. I'll update tomorrow.

I decided to go for a third worker in WS. Reason being that, if I grew the city, I'd have no improved tile to work at size 3 and if I started a settler at size 3, like I plan to, there'd be hammers left on a warrior build, which would probably go to waste.

So, I'll get another worker. The second worker roaded this turn on the way to the 3rd city. Next turn he won't finish the road, he'll go chop a mine. The mine will be ready when I reach size 3, the chop will be used on a settler, with the city stagnating at size 3 (corn, cow, mine). After that mine, he'll go to the jungle tile where the third city will be founded and road it, then finish the road 2NE of WS. This will allow the third city to be founded on the same turn the settler is born. Then, the worker will go improve the new city.

The third worker being produced in the capital will probably chop another mine into the settler (it'll be soon enough to be relevant), then probably go cottage the food plains. WS likely goes for another worker at size 3, reason being that I'll lend the corn to the third city and I can work 2 mines and cows at WS. After this worker, WS will grow on cow, corn and fp cottage.

This city will grow to size 3 as soon as possible, to work all the specials. It'll get 2 warriors and a turn into a granary. One of the warriors will go pillage the village to the north, funding the research to priesthood. I'll probably get a worker once the city hits size 3, then the two workers will chop a settler. I need to get this settler quick due to the following:

Kyan. He has a silver on his borders. His EXP/CRE... Damn... Hopefully he doesn't plan to expand to the north of this city soon. A good thing to notice is that Qgqq is filling in for Kyan, so he won't be changing the micro plan due to meeting me (which Kyan could end up doing). So, I'll try to get the Moai city soon. Hopefully Kyan won't be too pissed off. After priesthood I'll have to detour to Archery before anything else, planning to put an archer or two in that city. No copper really hurts me, but I can't put chariots in defense there...

I got Thoth's graphs on the last turn, so I switched the EP to Serdoa. Here's CY and MFG from Thoth. If you want to see anything else, just give me a shout, Novice.

Demographics:

I really, really hope I can beat Kyan to the Moai spot. I think it's a pretty defensible spot to have a border city with Kyan and it's a powerful location. But I'm really afraid of the power of EXP + a plains hill settle (which I think Kyan have).

Any advices regarding the no copper situation, Novice? I think I did a good job scouting, so it seems copper is probably a bit distant.

On a more upbeat note, I rolled the name of our next city, getting the following:

48. Moonrunner
10. House of Hell

So, what'll be?

Moon of Hell? Hellmoon?
House of Moon?
Runner of Hell or Hellrunner?
Houserunner?
Moonhouse?

Moon of Hell or Hellmoon.

I like Hellrunner.

Anyway, I think you should simply scout for copper. Check out these two hills and you ought to find it, no?

Then prioritize the city that has copper. The copper will make the city a good location, anyway.

Ok, I'll use the "pillager" warrior to try and find some copper. I'll also start drafting a "it's seven's script's fault" message to post in the postgame thread, in case there's really no copper nearby. Planning your excuses early is never a bad thing! nod

Hellrunner sounds cool too.

House of Moon is strangely amusing to me.
