[SPOILERS] Rusten enters uncharted waters

Also worth mentioning that the rules don't allow immediate peace treaties, which means that declaring war and offering a peace treaty to avoid shenanigans without killing the warrior was not an option. An annoying side effect of Krill's changes. And another reason why scouting with warriors is dumb.

Isn't it precisely the point? You don't get to declare war in order to get mutual invulnerability?

Empire wide shot btw,pretty please?

You're right, it's the exact mechanic he was trying to eliminate, but I feel the spirit of the rule change was more aimed towards the mid game and not being able to continuously force safety from attacks through sustained forced peace. Not for the scouting turns where I feel the original implementation works better.

I'll increase my screenshot rate and add a few later today or tomorrow.

The new implementation gave us blood though, so evidently better wink

The known east:

The known west:

Here's why the warrior had to die. It would currently be on the copper. Mega interference.

I'm adding even more workers on that path soon. Also in the screenshot is a 2metra scout, but the friendly Indians do not plan on killing it. wink
Speaking of 2metra we have resource trading available after I finished sailing, so this means 2metra is north of the 'Valley of Value'™ and Borsche is west.

I never reported it, but here's city #4, Anchovy. Screenshot is 1 turn old, but note the size 1 granary. dance

Just as important, if not more important, than settling X amount of cities by turn X is to make sure they come out of the gate running. Copper city, which is settled next turn, already has a wb in place for the fish. Sadly no size 1 granary there, but it will be completed on size 2. I still would've liked to stick with my original goal of 6 cities by T61, but 5 good ones is decent enough. Many more to follow.
Never settle a city without either a worker or a wb ready to improve it, then they're nothing but a drain on the economy. Working unimproved tiles sucks.

yes smile also, clever tricks

Speaking of which - how did you get a size 1 granary?   It's a 45 hammer improvement, so I assume a chop and working the gold?   that's what... 12 turns?

Why do that instead of growing to size 2, putting in 15 hammers and then whipping?   Just curiousity about your thought process there, in making the tradeoff,  not a criticism, at all.
Completed:  PBEM 34g (W), 36 , 35 , 5o, 34s, 5p, 42, 48 and PB 9, 18, 27, 57

Current:  PB 52.  Boudicca of Maya

I chopped 2 forests for 40 hammers and worked a 1F2H forest (only) the first turn. The city was settled T56, but thanks to the early granary it will be size 3 working corn+crab+gold as early as T64!
That's only 8 turns after being settled! eek Shows the importance of bringing workers with your settlers.

I'm not a fan of blood...war turn reports tend to give me a headache.  I do like clever micro nod.
