as much as I love Oscar Wilde, he's a little too contemporary for the "national epic theme. I'd even go with Paradise Lost over that .

wtf. slowcheetah logged in and whipped 4 times, knocking him out of first place.

I suppose he could be whipping markets or courthouses everywhere, but 4 whips in one turn makes me think emergency war. maybe him and plako are suddenly skirmishing? I've been assuming slowcheetah is in the SE coordinate of the map south of plako. Not sure who else he could be at war with.

I've also been assuming he's fairly isolated (high score, large area of unrevealed map, probably founded Confucianism). hmm.

logged in to look around. didn't play turn, wouldnt be fair to take the fun turn from lewwyn (getting 2 cities on one turn) but I took some pics.



ok, this shocked me. I really figured the war would stall for scooter. Flight of fancy was cfc jester's top 5 city. It had the great lighthouse in it!!! Not positive, but I think it might even have been their capital. they whipped it 3 times since the war started, so I thought it would hold.

Anyway cfc jester has yet to play, so maybe they retake it. But I think thats good news . In any case the amigos are much less of a long term threat now.



azza is finally building military. he just got construction last turn, so i don't think this is WE or catapults. we're still ahead of him of course, but we need to be careful.

king arther should be pretty safe, but we need to reinforce the odyssey more. anyway I'm hoping to force king arthur as the border\main front (since if war breaks out it will be easier/safer for us to push in that direction, and its closer to maths - and its less developed if he does somehow manage to take/raze a city).



gilgamesh will have 1 turn of unhappy before completing temple, thats good. although if we can log in early we can offer a trade for brick and maybe pick up a happy (since currency completes after this turn). how many GPT is a happy trade that benefits us and is neutral to him worth? I don't want to offend him, but don't want to overpay either. is 1gpt fair enough? we can afford that for the extra happy that will be very beneficial.



lewwyn switched to a library here. I get it, we need culture and research here, and the odyssey will get 13 hammers from the forest chop (I thought it would go to maths, but the odyssey is better of course). but I think we're gonna need some extra garrison units on this border.
a whip unhappy wears off in 3 turns. we might have to 2 pop whip this library to get it done in a reasonable time . lets hope we're able to parley the furs into 2 more happy. the 3rd fur will be hooked up in 7 turns.


thats pretty good odds, lets hope we don't get a terrible roll .

good call, I was thinking of doing that too. I really would like to maintain peace for another 40-50 turns, when we'll have a huge advantage and may be able to roll him .

Turn just rolled.... and.....

1) We researched something... Currency! I set next tech to Monarchy <shrug>
2) Scooter/pindicator took another city off of Jester/Nakor!
3) Azza got a religion spread in Iron Maiden

just got real busy and can't take pictures.. maybe later.
