[SPOILERS] Lewger goes for the Bigwyn

eh, crap. I guess Iron maiden is his new city? was hoping we could culturally overwhelm him, that culture doesnt help. but at least he should spread it around and give us shrine gold.

next tech is construction, but Lewwyn can change that, no worries.

go scooter!! I guess he's punishing cfcjester for a real farmers gambit (gotta figure thats safe on your own little island, poor amigos).

that means we have 4 cities with full trade routes, now 5 with just the +1 for second route. probably need to slot a 2nd island city before too long to fix that, since it doesnt seem like us or Brick will have alphabet soon.

go scooter! pretty sure commodore is gonna want to claim their last continental holding soon, so glad they are doing so well on the island.

this is our gnp at 100%:

we are perfectly break even at 50% atm. we have enough gold stored to do 1 turn of 50% and then maybe 1 turn at 70%.
we got 20 gold at the turn roll, not sure how really, maybe lewwyn turned down the research?

markets are so expensive:

ok eventually we'll need them in almost all of our cities (not maths, but probably the rest), but most of them will have to wait until we get monarchy and adopt OR. but we need them in gilgamesh and the iliad right away - for the happy (furs), and the commerce bonus. the iliad especially, since we're already getting +9 commerce from our shrine and it is working our most mature cottages. gilgamesh won't be too tough, since it has plenty of hammers, but its going to be difficult to build it in the iliad with the slavery nerf. the easiest way, I think, is to work both grains, grow it to size 10 (unhappies be damned), chop our last forest into it, and 5 pop whip it. then we only need to come up with 10 hammers manually. if we don't chop into it we'll have to come up with 40 hammers, which will take way too long. its ok though - we might as well cottage over the plakns spice as well. it will be forever until we get calender, and when we do we have another source in popol vuh that we can put a plantation on.

btw, the iliad finally loses all its whip unhappy in 8 turns, which will be before we can reach size 10.

I guess we can also one pop whip the lighthouse when it is 1 turn away and overflow into the market. actually that might be quick than reaching size 10, heh.

turn 122, war report:

power looking good. still ahead of azza and catching up with serdoa.

we need, I think, spears and HA's. we probably have enough axes - I don't think azza researched construction so he could come at us with praets.
I think 3 more spears at least - 1-2 from gilgamesh and 1-2 from maths? we'll need at least one formation spear if we want to risk mining the hills or choping the forests south of king arthur. then 3-4 maths built HA's that can sit in between king arthur and gilgamesh and go in either direction quickly in case of war. after that we should have construction and can build a lot of catapults. or hopefully HE, if we can figure out how to secure them by then.

lewwyn is wisely building walls first in king arthur.

haha. if I'm reading civ stats right, scooter just took a 4th (and auto-razed a 5th) from cfcjester. This is just epic.

By that I mean - seems like pindicooter played both epically bad in the commodore war and epically good in the cfc jester war. It seems truly amazing, though. I'm starting to have hope that they will actually be able to relocate their entire empire to the island and kick our the amigos. I can't even hate them for beating us in thread views.

thumbsup

also means we will have 5 cities with good trade routes,so even from a selfish perspective its good for us if they are able to keep it up smile.

you definitely need moar spears! that much was plain from my short time in the game.

yeah - their domination of the island is crazy. i wonder what they landed with and what was there defending...

its not as bad as you make it. no way azza attacks this turn, with his 4 horses he could kill one unit at most, and probably not that (the c2 spear + CG3 archer will be rough).

we need a couple of formation spears in the area though. more than necessary, probably, so we can mine the hills - and road the unroaded hill. and another CG3 archer wouldnt hurt.

And also more HA's. And honestly more settlers too frown. haha.

as for scooter -
this will give you a basic idea:
thats on the hill south of the city, he had twice as much in the city and the axe covering the worker. this was also when he sitll had 2 more mainland cities so you can imagine more units in those cities as well. he had 2 units +the one we gifted in his capital right before commodore took it, and I'm sure he evacuated them. and whatever was in his other mainland city got transported here when he gave it to commodore in their peace treaty. There's 4 galleys in that stack, not sure if he had more. if not, the army is large enough they would have to make 3 trips, probably.

so, honestly, they had to have been planning this for awhile and they made commodores job a heck of a lot easier, as they had this huge army nowhere near their battlefront in an active war. so they're taking cfcjester out of contention but made commodore a beast frown.

To be fair commodores army would have easily crushed that one. Tons of cats and axes.

from civ stats (im sick and about to crash, not bothering to log in): commodore took scooters last mainland city. aww. well at least he has 4 island cities now and should be able to whip out some units there to continue the war.

more relevant to us: serdoa did 3 whiops this turn. is he gearing for war? we'll pass him in power soon, but most of our troops are west on the azza front. Im worried about popol being exposed. would like to get that axe back to popol asap.

hopefully, he's at combat with xenu (or maybe brick, brick whipped twice this turn too). maybe he killed our chariot because he was afraid we would give xenu iron or something.

well at the point we saw it, sure. there's a lot more to scooter's army than you can see in that picture, but Commodore was (and is probably) #1 world power.

My point was that they had to have been preparing that for quite awhile, and probably could have put up a much better fight if they hadn't diverted their army east.

relocating to the island is no doubt more fun though. and they'll have no problem getting open borders to match up with their great lighthouse. I doubt either us, azza, or serdoa will ever cancel open borders lol
