You may have seen we cross-posted (otherwise known as I regoarrarr'd you ).
Also, OTOF is unhealthy by one, so I canceled our rice for rice trade with Krill, and offered rice for crab with Scooter.
He may counter with a spare spice for crab - any thoughts on whether we should do that? Typically I'd rate a happy resource as a few gpt higher than a health one, but he doesn't have any gpt available so I can't offer it.

Also keep in mind that OTOF is at happy cap, so I'm not too concerned with it losing 1fpt due to unhealthiness. After we do our knight push we'll probably put down some infrastructure to raise the happy cap (market, etc), so I guess if we can get the health resource now then let's do it.
As for trading with scooter, Ideally I'd not like to give happiness to the tech leader, but there is definitely a bigger picture aspect. For example, do you think scooter is going to run away in tech and stomp everyone with galleons and rifles? Or do you think he's going to be the counter-balance to krill and the two of them will chew each other up ala mackoti & novice/seven in pbem23?
1fpt in a single town may not be worth propping up scooter, but then again it may be the perfect reason. Depends on how much a threat he is to roll everyone over. I'm a bit scared of his tech rate, tbh, so I think I would avoid trading with him.
I'm not sure about scooter. His tech rate is to be sure, but Krill has SO MUCH land (like nearly 3 times as much as we do). I'm also kind of thinking that the reason he just now teched Paper is that he teched Paper + Philo to within 1 beaker of completion, so we'll see him nail Paper + Philo + Education over the next 3-4 turns.
I think that neither Scooter nor Krill has accepted our world map trades - there is a lot of land on those islands that are north of Scooter (and east of Krill). Krill has a LOT of cities now, so I bet that he has colonized those pretty heavily.
It's too bad that war between them ended so quickly and fakely....
With this cash we turned the speakers to 11 and Guilds is due at end of turn 180, right on schedule. At end of turn we're going to get our next great person out of the capital, which we'll use to fire off our golden age on turn 181.
Nothing terribly exciting -- although I'm just the micro guy. Rego does all the cool C&D and "what's happening in the world" stuff. So I'll stick with my guns and put a reminder of what needs to happen next turn.
SUPER IMPORTANT YET BORING MICRO REMINDER:
Between Turns 178 - 180, Coneheads needs to steal the seafood from the capital
Details in the spoiler
Turn 178
- Coneheads steals fish & clams from capital (should be at +12f/+3h)
- Church Lady fires 4 specialists and turns one of the remaining merch specs into an Eng. Works both grassland mines to get to +1f/+16h
Turn 179
- Coneheads grows to size 8. New citizen works the plains farm. Keeps both fish (now at +12f/+4h)
- Church Lady has no changes (+1f/+16h)
Turn 180
Same as last turn for both Church Lady & Coneheads
Turn 181 (first turn of golden age)
- Coneheads grows to size 9. Gives the clams back to CL, keeps the fish 1 more turn, and works 2 plains ws tiles. Yields are +6f/+18h
- Church Lady takes back clam tile from Coneheads. Hire 7 total specs (incl 1 eng spec), and continue working grassland hills. Yields are -4f/+20h
Turn 182
- Coneheads gives up fish to capital. Yields are +1f/+24h
- Church Lady takes fish back. Fires a merch spec to work the fish tile (so 6 total specs w/ 1 eng). Yields are +2f/+20h
This way Coneheads can grow large enough so that it can actually work all of these workshops we're planting for it, and grow fast enough to do so during our golden age. It also gets the capital some extra production in order to squeeze out a 3rd knight before the end of the GA.
Krill offered us 52gpt for 500 gold upfront. We noodled that about for awhile and then figured that he's using it to snag Liberalism. Although scooter is crazy ahead in techs also, Krill took one city and settled THREE MORE this turn, bringing him up to 29 () cities!
We tossed around the idea of asking for more gpt and/or asking for our city of Crazy Plant Hand back, but as of now we have not made any counter-offer.
As Pindicator points out, things are still on schedule for our Guilds run. Yuri's power is going up but not by very much - we did spot a longbow in his new city of Kolhar.
But there's nothing to me that indicates he has some giant stack of knights / cats / pikes hanging around
I think we should make a counter-offer. Krill's expecting one; he's logged in immediately after us twice. Your call on whether you'd rather try for CPH or do the 70gpt deal. I definitely don't think Krill will take the CPH deal
I gotta run, too, which is why I'm saying it's your call.
I logged in to offer a trade to Krill and he had made an additional trade - 500g for 52gpt and gems, which I declined (don't need the happy currently).
I went to counter-offer, but because he's running max science, I can't select any gpt from him... :-(
