Sounds like they don't really understand that the Germans don't need the whole clock they are simply waiting to see if anyone brings input however long it takes and getting none.
Also sounds like they want our scout to move on out of their lands, pushing us toward the Spaniards.
“The wind went mute and the trees in the forest stood still. It was time for the last tale.”
Well, once we have revealed all CFC cities we will do just that, although the Spaniards are the least interesting civ, I would say.
and we would need to negotiate right of passage with any new civs we meet.

Spaniards are probably going to be a harder team to negotiate with if not simply because of the language barrier. We might want to ask CFC how much trouble they had negotiating with the Spanish?
Caledorn have already volunteered some info on that:
Quote:Well, that's a difficult one. We have peace with them, but they do not wish to sign a NAP (I think they were betrayed by a NAP in a previous ISDG, so I think they don't trust the deals).
We don't think there's any danger of war though
The NAP-stabbers would be us, I imagine.
My impression is that native Spanish-speakers as a rule are worse at English than Germans, we know they have several members who doesn't speak English, and that the entire community is made up of people who prefer to communicate about civ in Spanish.
So yes, we start with -5 in diplo relations for "you betrayed us", but we might gain a bit by sending messages in Spanish (or good Portugese). Compare how mostly_harmless could make the German turn-players to open up, when he managed to chat with them in-game.
Anyway, contact with the Spanish might help us get directions to some more teams.
Furthermore, I consider that forum views should be fluid in width
This was mentioned before, but to repeat: Both Regoarrarr and I speak Spanish.
Merovech's Mapmaking Guidelines:
0. Player Requests: The player's requests take precedence, even if they contradict the following guidelines.
1. Balance: The map must be balanced, both in regards to land quality and availability and in regards to special civilization features. A map may be wonderfully unique and surprising, but, if it is unbalanced, the game will suffer and the player's enjoyment will not be as high as it could be.
2. Identity and Enjoyment: The map should be interesting to play at all levels, from city placement and management to the border-created interactions between civilizations, and should include varied terrain. Flavor should enhance the inherent pleasure resulting from the underlying tile arrangements. The map should not be exceedingly lush, but it is better to err on the lush side than on the poor side when placing terrain.
3. Feel (Avoiding Gimmicks): The map should not be overwhelmed or dominated by the mapmaker's flavor. Embellishment of the map through the use of special improvements, barbarian units, and abnormal terrain can enhance the identity and enjoyment of the map, but should take a backseat to the more normal aspects of the map. The game should usually not revolve around the flavor, but merely be accented by it.
4. Realism: Where possible, the terrain of the map should be realistic. Jungles on desert tiles, or even next to desert tiles, should therefore have a very specific reason for existing. Rivers should run downhill or across level ground into bodies of water. Irrigated terrain should have a higher grassland to plains ratio than dry terrain. Mountain chains should cast rain shadows. Islands, mountains, and peninsulas should follow logical plate tectonics.
re: Lewwyn's comments - Yeah, I'll try to clarify that about the German team when I reply. It's not that they're struggling to finish, it's that they play the turn and then don't login/end turn for 36 hours. That's ridiculous.
Do we know (Ie is it possible to tell from their recruitment thread in poly) if the Spanish team composed of people who we're in the poly game, or just friends of people who were betrayed? That might make a difference in their willingness to deal with us.
Safer to assume the former. So, no rush to chat with Spanish AP, get all of CFC's cities mapped out, and leave the economically crippled civ for later. It's not like we'll be interacting with one another.
its entirely possible they are talking about another pitboss game. If they designed this mod, its likely they play a lot of pitbosses, so its also likely they've done several intersite games. I think we're jumping to conclusions that they are even talking about the apolyton game.
