After the reload, I re-whipped a worker into Durkon, which will overflow into an axe.
I forgot to mention the names of the last two workers:
Ian is Haley's dad, a master thief. He's had better days.
Kilkil is one of series of kobolds who end up in groups opposing the order. They always have a repeating set of 3 letters and Belkar ends up doing various disgusting things to them or their corpses. Like I said, he's evil. Funny stuff, though.

I've been trying to figure out why V is getting it's trade route from Belkar (which is kind of hilarious if you know the comic) and not one of the two civs I have open borders with.
I presume Ruff has cities not connected to his capitol. And I believe that Tarkeel dow'd me, so we don;'t have the peace dividend, so neither of us are getting anything from the OB. Which means it's a win for me

Multiple reasons.
- You can only have 1 trade route to any single foreign cities. So if the other civ has 5 cities, you can only have 5 foreign trade routes towards them. You can have infinite amounts of domestic trade routes
- If foreign and domestic trade routes produce the same commerce, the game prefers domestic trade routes so that the foreign trade routes are free for the better trade routes, because of #1
Now as to why V has a trade route to Belkar:
Most important you have Sailing. Because of that the trade route flows like this:
- From V towards Roy via river, roads or lake tiles
- From Roy to Durkon via road
- From Durkon via coast (Sailing) to Tarkeel's canal city NE of Belkar, because you have open borders
- From that canal city via coast to Belkar.

Turn 72
No, I see how V gets a trade route with Belkar. What I was wondering is how I had a trade route with Belkar and not a city of Ruff or Tarkeel, both of whom I have OB with.
I believe it's because Tarkeel declared war to send a scout through, so he gets no bonus. Which leads to the slightly funny conclusion that he traded gold to me for nothing.
I still don't understand why he placed that city by the jungled pig, since he doesn't have IW yet.
In other international news, Tarkeel planted 2 more cities. He's organized, so they are cheap. He's having a great game - I assume these guys have no infrastructure at all.
Also, I met Jowy:
That's not going to be confusing
Next turn I plant Xykon. Xykon will steal the cow from Roy(the cap has plenty of 3 food tiles in it's lake) and will work that until borders expand and it can work the fish. The WB for the fish is exploring the southern islands and will be back in time to net the fish.
Haley is making a chariot and will whip a settler when it gets up to size
Durkon makes an axe with overflow and will grow on another axe - need some units. WHen it gets up to size, it will make another settler - i think for the yellow FP filler city.
Roy will make a galley as it grows. It will whip out a settler for the silver city - 3 turns to get to size 6.
Elan is making a granary. Kilkil is farming a plains tile, which is think is a bad idea/waste of time. I think I need to be roading out to the silver site
Eugene finish out first cottage on the FP by Vaarsuvius!! He will waste a turn moving towards the wheat - borders expand in 2 turns and he'll get the wheat, then move back for the silver
Crystal has moved to the forest deer in prep to improve that
Durkon made a worker, which I named Tsukiko, after the undead loving sorceress on Team Evil (team Evil is the name of Xykon's group - Xykon, the goblin cleric Right-eye and various others) I moved Tsukiko to improve a hill, but that was a mistake and she is going to go chop the forest at Yellow for the little filler city. I need more workers!!
Sigdi is mining a hill by Haley, which was probably a mistake - she should be building a cottage, I think, but the mine is useful and I already moved onto the hill, so I'll let it go. I think I need to work on worker micro ![wink wink](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/wink2.gif)
Ian roaded the cow by the cap, allowing the settler that 1 extra move and thus Xykon settles next turn. Ian will road to Xykon and then mine the copper, then probably chop the forest to hurry along the granary in Xykon.

One reason for fewer foreign trade routes could also be that they haven't connected all their cities. I haven't looked at their empires.

Tech situation
This is really a big change, being able to track how many people you know having a tech, I mean.
from this, I can tell that no one has math and no one has IW. Only 2 have masonry, one of which is clearly Tarkeel.

You were always able to track that. It just took a lot of time and spreadsheet magic

The main problem with the forum is that it's bonus only applies if you have 4 or more GP applied, so if you run one specialist or have one wonder, it doesn;t help. It would be better at 1/3 (so you can get the bonus for 1 specialist) or even .5 (so you could get it with just a wonder).
That said, I dunno that Rome needs a buff

Turn 73 - Founded Xykon
Plan is to have Ian road that tile, mine the copper, chop the forest. Between the cow, chop and copper, we should be able to just build the granary, then Zykon will make settlers for down south.
Who is Xykon? He's the boss monster for OOTS - an epic level sorcerer lich. His evil is described as that of a bored CEO. He's definitely evil and incredibly powerful. His main allies are Redcloak, the high priest of the goblin god, the Dark One and the Monster In the Dark, the childish unknown monster under a pink umbrella. He sometimes seems like he's not paying attention and he often isn't, but then its clear he sees very clearly what's happening. Sometimes. If you survive an encounter with him, it's probably luck. Or maybe unreasonable rage, or a paladin, or just lying to him. This is a bad guys bad guy.
Roy is building a galley for some islands
Slight change of plans for the wheat - workers will road to the wheat, and then two of them will work together to improve the wheat. This way, no one is idle.
I don't need to be the most powerful - I just need to be close enough that I'm not a target. Not that I think Tarkeel will attack me - he's now getting 2 GPT routes from me.

International news:
Jowy and ruff are at war. I think they've been at war since before I met Jowy.
I got math, so chops are better ![wink wink](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/wink2.gif) I still have some forests (this is not a heavily forested world)
I have IW up on 0% as I figure out if I want to go IW, Calendar or currency.
Calendar gets me a good shot at MoM
Currency is currency
IW gets me my praets
Right now, I don' thave any jungle tiles that NEED to be cleared. The ivory would be nice if cleared and having iron would be great, but for IW, it's getting praets. if I want to go at Tarkeel, the window for praets is before he gets construction. That said, I doubt that I can conquer him with praets at this point - maybe had I beelined IW, but that is a losing move.
I think the right choice is Calendar, picking up hammers on MoM by whip overflow and chopping - but I'm still thinking...
Praets would be make Serdoa nervous and he's winning, so that's not a bad thing to do. Definitely want to get to Serdoa before he can get to gunpowder - Oromo's are good.
Here's the thing: getting MoM is nice. Praets define Rome, so why am I delaying picking them up? I think maybe I pick up masonry, get an aqueduct, try to pick up HG and use the engineer for a later wonder and pick up IW and go beat on someone.
Still need to do some thinking on this.
