[SPOILER] On This Day

1920 – About 75% of the population in Zone I votes to join Denmark in the 1920 Schleswig plebiscites.

It's a filler city, nothing exciting. We are building Moai in Watergate. It will generate a Great Prophet for a shrine eventually.
Something I'm thinking about is should we try to go for all 3 shrines. It's a big map so it could be worth it.

Serdoa could be annoying and take 32% odds to raze the new city. It wouldn't be a huge setback for us since it's new, but if Serdoa were to try, I would be tempted to retaliate.

Serdoa didn't attack. He did build the MoM though. What are his odds to win now, 99%?

Okay, let's lock down this path. We get Currency first, then HBR and go all out against Serdoa. We will need his other neighbors to attack him too.

660 BC – Traditional date for the foundation of Japan by Emperor Jimmu

Found another good island:

Settling it next turn. I could turn around with the galley to grab another settler, but I think I should explore first to see if there's anything worth settling and how close we are to our island neighbor which should be Serdoa.
The path to Currency is going to be grueling. Tech being our weakness is quite a change to my last few games.

1994 – Four thieves break into the National Gallery of Norway and steal Edvard Munch's iconic painting The Scream.

Those are Tarkeel's borders, we are technically settling his islands now. Clearly my idea of map wrapping is not how it actually works  lol

Ruff canceled OB. He has OB with everyone else in the game. I don't know if we can attack Serdoa when Ruff is like this. I think he will actually attack us if our troops are occupied elsewhere.
Maybe we just have to conquer Ruff first and then worry whether there's something we can do to slow down the leader.

Thanks. You do run into some depressing things when researching, like this from today. Don't read if you're easily upset..

Wheel of Time was great! I just finished the last book recently. My journey took 2.5 years, but now I am super motivated to get into more fantasy series smile

2.5 years is a speed run when it comes to Wheel of Time. I was a teenager when I stumbled over the first book in a book shop. Let's just say than I'm very much not anymore. mischief

I've read most of the books three times. (I didn't reread whenever a new book came out, but did for last one). I don't remember how many books there were at the time, but I did the series in 6 months once. This was pre marriage pre kids. I remember for a while I had to check some of them out of my high school library and then some from the public library. When I left high school I bought the 3-4 the public library was missing for them for my last rereading.

But ya for anyone who likes Wheel of Time check out Kingkiller Chronicles (again be warned 3rd book will be released in 2040).

At least it got finished! Sanderson did a great job. I'm glad I got into it when all the books were already out, even though it can be fun to theorize with fans between books. The next ASOIAF book taking over 10 years has soured me on waiting.

I can imagine it's a good series to re-read. There's gotta be so many things that go over your head on the first read.

On my to-read list I have The Black Company and Malazan series, and also The Goblin Emperor and The Lies of Locke Lamora standalone books. Those ought to last a few years. Maybe by then Kingkiller Chronicles will have another book out :P
