Turn 103 - "Shock and Awe? I think you will find the awe is for them."

Unfortunate that we lost our great general, that makes it a public embarrassment. Was a 94% chance to win, but 5 to 1 K;D overall is nice.
I only made the three chariots on the advice on my lurker, and then felt they would be pretty bad because there were too many skirms to cover the axemen, but it turns out there were three uncovered Axemen. Very great payoff, thanks Kilcavalry! So killed 5 units off near Power Process, after checking in Vodka that we have enough in Mateship to defend the walls.
We will have to see what Rekenner does next, if he moves onto the copper then it might get very dicey trying to kill all his 11 units there, even with the second great general to boost things.

Also it looks like the Romans lost two cities so far to the Germas? Weird considering their new city count numbers.

TURN 104 - YUGE WINNING!

I was worried about Rekenner moving onto the copper, in fact I might well have had to wait a turn before fighting him there. However he attacked Mateship en masse, which didn't work.
Together with the 5-1 last turn, this is another 16-2. So in this war I've lost 3 units (including a Great General sadly), but killed 21.
I think I'm going to have to try to kill Rekenner off now. Unlike last time, my advantage is larger, I don't have a bunch of great city sites to settle, and we know that he'll probably keep annoying me if I were to immediately attack a more long-term dangerous foe like the Khmer. I don't think I'll be able to attack JackRB immediately after beating Rekenner because by then surely he will have macemen, crossbowmen, war elehpants, catapults, even knights. So my strategy for getting back into this game (you'll have to permit me top be optimistic) should be economic development based on having a decent-sized territory assuming i can beat Rekenner.

Oh and net income is now 17, which I'm putting into espionage to see Rekenner's army size. So we have the beginnings of an actual economy there!
And this turn I'm asking my Lurker whether the second Great General should go into 10 city raider promotions for axemen, or into being a specialist in the capital for eventual 9 xp Keshiks (3 promotions because of CHA) which might be really needed to defend against my neighbour's future Macemen/knights

What a massacre! Your overall hammer exchange ratio against Mali must be something incredible.

TURN 104
Have espionage for Rekenner's demography now. Decided Crop Yield is the one I would post here.
Also Vanrober is spammed me with absurd diplomatic offers like this, what does it mean? Perhaps he's threatening me saying I shouldn't invade Rekenner and should invade a different neighbour instead? Well I'd like to but Rekenner unfortunately is too aggressive to be ignored. Maybe i need to screenshot more of his offers to unravel the mystery. One was demanding my copper stone and ivory in exchange for war with Rekenner.

Bonus incase the Romans and Germans are getting lazy reporting in their threads:

Oh and I am of course moving to invade Rekenner now, sadly the military strength icon says I am still only at 1.3 compared to him! But I can at least raid some improvements, see what's up in his cities while lurking on hills, etc.

The icon isn't updated live but goes by the power graph, so if the the graph hasn't been updated with your recent victory yet then the icon will still change (idk how many turns have passed)
Reply

Specifically, the icon shows relatively military strength at the the beginning of the previous turn. So you only see the battle two turns after it has occurred. The power graph should show a steep decline in his military power. You can use that to gauge whether the battle is already included in the strength difference.

As for vanrobers message, in no diplo games certain coding conventions have been developed. Fish vs fish or clam vs clam usually means "let's be friends". Copper vs copper or iron vs iron tends to mean "let's fight together".
