I won't be on this Wed, most likely. Actually I've been on much less than I'd hoped to be recently. I'll just have to wait and see if that trend continues.

I probably won't make it tomorrow night. Supposed to go have dinner with relatives I haven't seen for a while.

Heh, I'm not so sure if I'll make it tomorrow either, but we'll see.
As for watching matches that take place in the new halls, there's usually one or 2 always available for viewing on observer mode. There were some special event matches that took place completely on the new isles. They were several days ago, though, so I'm not sure if they're still there. I have to admit though, now that Solitude has become the new popular hall I'm less interested in it. Anyways, we have had a few victories on Frozen, so I don't think it's a hopeless cause.

Hi, it's me again. I had a thought I'd like to share. At the time of this posting, Sigils cost 7 platinum, and I don't know how much the price of a hall itself is (somewhere around 5-10 plat?) but it's not too much. Since the days of us being broke newbs are over, we can afford to change halls several times without being too put out for it. Why don't we make a list of all of the halls we'd like to try out and then buy one for a week or so and have a few matches (scrimmages) then move on to the next? That way we can see just how each hall will suit us and whether it's right for us or not.
A few of the halls I wouldn't mind giving a test run: Wizard's, Wurms, Solitude. None of the Factions halls really caught my interest, but if people want to try them out I'm game. Also, we've had a recent influx of several new members, some of which have expressed interest in GvG, so it might be time to start up again. As for what build to use... uh... well, I'll just watch a couple matches on observer and copy something for us to try. I already have a vague idea for warriors, eles, rangers and monks, but nothing that's a coherent team atm. Edit: As it turns out, all GvG faction is going to be doubled this weekend. Would be nice if we could get a few matches going.

I like Meditation just for looks, don't know how it'd work for GvG.
As for the others, i don't mind Solitude. Wurms made me want to throw myself off a cliff. Its a depressing place. ![]()

I'm all for trying a new hall; I really liked the look of Solitude. It'd be a nice place to hang out, as well as a reportedly good hall for GvG. Maybe we can try that first? And hopefully get some GvG goodness going this weekend! ![]()
The face of GvG in Guild Wars will be changing forever near the end of January.
At least, that's how the rumor goes. They're getting rid of the current ladder as it now is and are going to start doing daily tournaments which will indicate rank and all that stuff. The current matching system will still be around but won't offer the top level guilds the opportunity to get the high ranks that they have now, which means that it's going to basically be guilds like us that are in the mix. At least, that's the way I understand it. The explanation and a pretty good dicsussion on the new method can be seen over at team-iq, in this thread. On the one hand, this royally screws me over since I've enjoyed guesting, which has given me quite a bit of experience playing against mid-level GvG guilds (we even went up against top 100 guilds every now and then, which was fun, even though it wasn't all that pretty trying to defend against them). On the other hand, this is probably good news for RB (if people still want to GvG, that is) since it means we'd be going up against other guilds equal to this one on a more regular basis. Well, whatever, our GvG still needs to get overhauled for NF and all that, so we can worry about our competativeness later.

So, a bit more of an update on GvG and stuff.
TNE (I hope you guys remember who they are) merged with TVMA, which then merged with aE (Art of Eight, r58 at time of posting), making a guild of about 30 GvGers. Since you can only do 1 ranked GvG per guild at a time that leaves 22 people who want to GvG. Fang &co. (the old TNE people) have said that if we can get 4 people together they'll guest the rest for us and give us a build, call, etc.; all this on a more than just Wednesday schedule, basically whenever we can get at least team of 4. To do this, we need a few things: - Four people who want to GvG on more than just Wednesday nights. We'll still have the Wednesdays and they will still be open invitation to anyone, but this is for people who want to get in on a more semi-regular schedule type thing. - A new guild hall. We've been talking about this one for a while. I think that when KoP changes the cape back to normal we should start with the experimentation by changing the hall as well, in this order (since no one else is suggesting one): --Solitude --Wurms --Wizard's --Meditation --Uncharted I would say use each for 2 days (of GvG, that is). After that trial period (probably lasting about a month or so) we can decide on a permanent one (watch, by the time that happens the new chapter will be out and we'll have even more choices). - A more permanent/stable voice server. This is the big one. The amount of communication that's required during GvG is really high and, because of that, it's very critical to have a good server and to make sure everyone is using it. I know in the past we've been using TS, but my experiences with Vent have left me to believe it's the better option (lower ping and better voice quality) so we should see about setting up a private server for that. Well, there it is. Let me know what you guys think. If there are 3 other people out there who want to commit to and play more than just Wednesdays then let me know and we can get started.

Can you give anything more specific than "more than wednesdays"?
I have alot of free holiday time now but that will reduce mid-month through rest of spring. Tenatively Monday and Tuesday nights are probably ok. Maybe wed/thursday if it's after 9ish EST. But yeah I'm interested. Been monking more and more for Alliance HA games, and its nice to have leaders that tell noobs like me exactly what to do. ![]() |
