FFH PBEM3?

I'm keen for lurkers too if any more appear. It may get a bit lonely there otherwise. I do intend to update a lot, and I expect I will, but I'll admit this whole spoiler thread thing is new to me.

I wouldn't veto another player, but we have already picked and announced civs and 7 is a lot. Plus PBEM4 has less players and hasn't started yet.

Hmm, i wouldn't mind a 7th player in the game as well, if we can keep on doing 1 turn per day at minimum.

Also i'm looking for a dedicated lurker, as i have no multi experience whatsoever and are still fairly new to this mod.

I'm with Irgy on this one. 7 civs is stretching it a bit and we've already announced our civs. I'm not against it though, and if everyone else wants to then I'll go along with it.

Don't worry about being lonely in your spoiler thread. The threads are being read, there's often just not a lot for lurkers to say so they stay quiet and it's easy to think no-one is watching. Nothing gets lurkers like frequent turn updates. smile

A 7th player would generally seem fine to me, and in return for seeing the other civs in advance, his picking options would be restricted accordingly.

I'm interested in dedicated lurkers. I'm new to multiplayer, so I'd be happy about hearing MP-specific advice. Also, having a substitute player helps keeping the game going should I become unavailable for a few days at some point.

I'm inclined to go with Irgy and WarriorKnight. 6 players seems like a good number, and we've already picked our civs and hashed out most (all?) of the settings and rules.

If Ravus is seriously dying for a fix, he could join up with the FFH PMEB4 crowd. They're only 5 (I think) and are still at the "what kind of bells and whistles do we want" stage.

(I wouldn't mind a dedicated lurker either. wink )

You guys want to get a blitz session on in the next weekend? Not much to do early game and would like to speed it up.

Sounds like a plan. 6-7 turns should be enough for all of our starting units to get mauled by bears/eaten by spiders/thumped by hillgiants.

Good idea, I can't wait for my scout to be devoured. smile

So we have 2 GMT -5, a GMT +11, a GMT +8, and 2 GMT +1. Spread almost evenly around the world too. wink

The biggest gap is 8 hours between Irgy and Mardoc/Thoth. So let's say for starters 12:00 GMT on Saturday. Is everyone fine with that? (So Irgy at 11pm and Mardoc/Thoth at 7am, everyone else sometime less extreme)

I'm for it in principle. 11pm is actually probably the ideal time for me. During the day on the weekend I'll generally be expected to be doing other things. I could also do 6am or 7am (so GMT 19:00 and 20:00), as I tend to wake up first and have some time for myself, but that puts GMT+8 at 3am or 4am.

How long / how many turns do we expect to blitz for? I don't want to play too many turns in a row without taking some time to think, but I agree there's little to do early on. Once we start to make contact with each other though then time for diplomacy is good to have.

I can do 7:00 am Saturday.....I might be a little groggy and caffeine deprived, but I'll manage.

As far as number of turns, I don't know. 5-10? Plus maybe a second blitz on Sunday?

A lot depends on how close we are. If it takes us 20 turns to meet, there won't be much diplo. wink
