Founding my second island city and growing onto gold and fur tiles on the same turn had positive effects on my economy. (The island city was +11 by itself!) Breakeven tech is now 113. I might have to recalculate tech timings.
In other news, someone else got Aesthetics a turn before I did. So it's possible I will lose Paya or GL, but that wouldn't be the end of the world. I will keep building them and if someone else beats me, hey, free doubled wealth.

Someone's now gotten Literature a turn before me too. I think it's probably Pindicator based on scores, GPT (he's negative, everyone else is saving at least somewhat), GNP graph last turn when he didn't get a tech, and the fact that he's one of only two people who had Polytheism last turn. This has both positive and negative implications.
+ I got a discount on both of these techs, and he's not.
+ Due to that, he might not know I'm following him there.
+ I feel safer knowing that the Pyramids guy is going for GLib. That's how things should be, so it's kind of comforting.
+ The fact that he went straight to Literature from Aesthetics suggests he cares less about Paya and more about GLib. That's good because I care more about Paya.
+ An opponent is getting non-military techs.
- I lost the chance to intimidate him into conceding it / scare him off by getting to the tech first.
- I might lose some really tasty wonders.
- I may even have to worry about Music. (However, I am guessing I can beat his best by 2t.)
- Opponents seem to be up to things.
Incidentally, it seems like I'll get research visibility on Pindicator in a couple turns, hopefully before (or as) I finish off Music. Then we can see how close he was, if he was going for it. I chose to go for research visibility on Pin first because with a representation economy, he can't just turn off tech and then 1t everything without revealing information.

For the record, I predict I will lose GLib but win Paya and Music.
Tech timings are such that I could get Metal Casting after Music and still get CS at the same time I previously estimated. However, I will probably go for CS first anyway.

Got music in 3t with the help of 22h of wealth, just to be sure.
This is what an opportunistic attack looks like. Too bad I'm one turn late to get a free worker.
Here's another example. I swear it's a coincidence that they're against the same person.
And here is some exploration. It seems I may be exploring at Dazed from three directions at once. Seriously, I swear it's a coincidence. However, each of them reinforces the effectiveness and desirability of the others.
Now you guys tell me: what is going on here?

You didn't kill the worker on copper, hoping that you worker on the deer would be left in peace in exchange?
I have to run.

I think just seven and novice are thinking like that

Here are my thoughts.
1) I could have killed his worker, but didn't.
2) I could have brought better units on the boat, but didn't. Just a warrior and worker.
3) I specifically unloaded two units from the boat into his vision to give him the best proof I could that the galley is now empty and not a threat.
4) By unloading the warrior there, I got vision of his city, so have better chance of noticing when he builds a galley or trireme there, and I got vision without having to encroach further on his territory or having to spend an extra galley turn.
My goal is to feel secure on this front without having to devote significant standing forces (especially before I get Metal Casting), and the two ways I had of advancing this goal was a) trying to indicate peaceful intentions and b) getting vision of the city. I'm hoping that these two combined with scooter's scant military builds so far will permit me to keep minimal defenses towards scooter until I can better afford them.

Scooter carried on as if my galley and warrior weren't even there, which I'll take as a good sign. Dazed got a vulture into the island city, and the worker near the gold left, so I aborted the harassment against him. I did settle my fourth island city, -11gpt from maintenance, but +17gpt from commerce.
t70 is the turn I finish the Great Library and Shwedagon Paya if no one else feels like building them first. The Great Library has 2 chops due that turn, so if I miss it I will be getting my National Epic up significantly faster.
t71 I should have stone hooked up and will immediately begin Moai in Merchant Ship, with 20h overflow and 1-2 chops coming in to help.
Right now I am saving gold (probably intimidating opponents with +114gpt showing - oh well) and may go for CS (a 4.8t tech) or Metal Casting (a 2.6t tech) next. I've halted settler production for the moment in favor of growth and workers. While I have been whipping most cities off of everything that's not a resource thus far, you want to simply work lots of tiles in a golden age. So lots of tiles we will strive for.

Pindicator built the Great Library as expected, giving me 1t worth of gold (114).
After noting the ETA of Moai (t74), and wanting a few more turns to build cottages and grow, I decided to tech Metal Casting before Civil Service. I will therefore get CS t74 and plan to fire the golden age t75.
Also check this out: I managed to come out of the fog and get visibility of Dazed's capital. I suspect he has a chariot in range (in the city to the north) and therefore could potentially kill it with a chariot + warrior combo. I hope he doesn't try this, obviously, because I like my chariot.

Nice.
I believe that capital might be a tad bit exposed.
